If you have received a Statutory Demand, it is crucial to act quickly. The first step is to determine whether you owe the money. If not, you should proactively communicate with the creditor, outline any disputes, and request the withdrawal of the demand. Failure to do so could lead the creditor to seek liquidation of your company through the High Court. However, if you do owe the money, the advice remains similar: communicate openly. If payment is difficult, request additional time and provide clear information about your situation to buy time and avoid liquidation proceedings. In either case, seeking specialist insolvency advice is essential. You only have 15 working days to resolve the issue before the creditor may apply for liquidation, after which you have limited options. Book a 30-minute consultation with our expert team to get the advice you need to navigate Statutory Demands and protect your business. https://lnkd.in/gU_7tqUE Norling Law is a specialist Litigation and Dispute Resolution Law firm with a core focus on Insolvency and Restructuring. #NorlingLaw #InsolvencyandDebtRecovery #legal #lawyers #litigation #lawfirm #newzealand #nzbusiness #advice

Keep learning with IPAS! Join our webinar, Trusts in Personal and Corporate Insolvency: Establishing (and Dismantling) Trust Claims on 21 August. Through this seminar, we will examine the concept of a trust in insolvency law, both from the creditor's perspective (as a tool for enhanced recovery) and from the practitioner's perspective (when faced with a claim that a trust exists). We will also review how various other common law jurisdictions have treated the interplay between equity and insolvency to give practical guidance to practitioners on what to expect, or prepare, to defend a trust claim. Register on Eventbrite now at https://lnkd.in/e3mByz2C or contact IPAS at course@ipas.org.sg for more information. #IPAS #insolvency #trusts
