Hi Everyone! Trying something a little bit different this weekend by participating in my first hackathon and building in public! The idea, aptly named MergenAI, is simple: connect people's data stores under one roof, add a conversational AI into the mix and let the user explore their data, through conversation, in ways they had never been able to before! Ever wondered how much you spend on a sunny day vs a rainy day? Or how about in one part of your city (ex. East Village in Manhattan) vs another (ex. Williamsburg in Brooklyn)? Or have you been curious to visualize what percent of your time you spend at work vs. home vs. exploring another part of town? I can keep going with the examples but the deadline for the end of the competition looms! My team and I are hard at work to deliver something in the next 16 hours and will post our hacked together MVP as soon as possible! Stay tuned!

Seconds out...round 2!🥊 On Friday I asked whether we are creating barriers to adoption of experimentation. One opinion was, 'if you are going to do something, you need to make sure it is done right', and make sure that you are testing in a statistically robust way. However, how much do we need to compromise in an experimentation programme? I'm not talking about cutting corners statistically, but how much do we need to swallow our pride and sometimes throw away the prioritisation framework and the roadmap to achieve a quick and dirty win? I'm particularly thinking about the early stages of any programme, where you need to justify investment, and feel the pressure to run a test that will get a smaller, quicker win, which can be directly linked to a revenue uplift. Should the 'right' prioritisation framework be bringing these experiments to the top of your roadmap anyway? This post was particularly inspired by Deborah O'Malley's recent contribution about where you should launch your first tests.
