The early stage conundrum: Accommodating ad hoc customer feature requests Context: After onboarding our initial customers we started receiving a ton of customer feedback and feature requests. Every feature request is a priority and implementing them means we met customer expectations. The problem: Some of these features were way later on our roadmap. Prioritizing these meant deprioritizing other critical features we had to build. Our solution: At RevOwl we follow a 70:30 ratio of sticking to the roadmap and accommodating ad hoc requests. Every sprint 70% of our time goes into pre-defined building, testing, and deploying our roadmap. The remaining 30% is completely dedicated to shipping customer requests. The idea is to maintain a healthy balance between both in our early stages of building for customers. Considering we are early, we can get away with allocating 30% of our productivity to ad hoc feature requests. #earlystagestartups #customerexperience
