Marble, granite, limestone—each type of stone has unique properties that make it special. How do you incorporate stone into your designs? Architects have always had a fascination with natural stone—it’s a material that brings not only structure but also soul to a project. Think of the great cathedrals of Europe or modern masterpieces like the Sydney Opera House. These aren’t just buildings; they’re legacies carved in stone. Using stone in your projects isn’t just about durability; it’s about telling a story that lasts for generations. Imagine a client walking into a space and immediately feeling the texture, the weight, the history that the stone conveys. It’s a silent yet powerful statement of quality and taste. So here’s a question for you: How do you balance the practicality and artistic potential of stone in your designs? Let’s discuss in the comments!

Limestone, Travertine or Marble – Which One is Right for Your Project? Choosing the right natural stone can make all the difference in your project’s look, durability, and maintenance. But do you know the key differences between limestone, travertine, and marble? *** Limestone – A versatile option for paving, cladding, and pool surrounds, offering a durable, natural aesthetic that blends seamlessly into outdoor spaces. *** Travertine – A popular choice for pool areas due to its ability to stay cooler underfoot in hot climates. However, its porous nature requires sealing to prevent water absorption and staining. *** Marble – The go-to for luxury interiors and statement outdoor features, with its bold veining and refined surface. However, it’s important to choose the right finish to prevent slipping when used outdoors. Which one suits your project best? Our latest blog dives into the formation, durability, applications, and maintenance of these three natural stones, helping you make an informed decision. 🔗 Read the full guide: https://lnkd.in/gNMaJUa9 If you're looking for expert advice on selecting the perfect stone for your project, get in touch with Babylon Procurement today! #NaturalStone #Limestone #Travertine #Marble

In this fourth video of our series, we highlight the restoration of Building D1 at the original Arlington Gas Works historical site. All existing buildings on-site underwent complete restoration, preserving their historical character while updating functionality. Building D1 has been restored for storage use, maintaining its terracotta tile roof, which was carefully repaired and preserved, along with the addition of snow guards and replaced capstones. Weston & Sampson also completed new windows, masonry repairs, and interior restorations in other site buildings, ensuring their longevity. This project presented unique challenges, including working on a flooded, hazardous site with a brook running through the center. Despite these obstacles, Weston & Sampson delivered a successful project, blending historical preservation with modern design solutions.
