As we have all witnessed with the recent hurricanes and the devastation they've left in the Southeast, natural disasters and emergencies can happen at any time with little to no warning. The Kane County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is teaming up with the Elburn & Countryside Fire Protection District to host OEM's Emergency Preparedness classes for kids and adults. Learn what to pack in an emergency kit for your home and car, first-aid tips, and how to prepare your family in case you need to evacuate. Kids' classes are age-appropriate and fun! The goal is to empower children to be prepared and have confidence during what can be a scary time for all. The two-hour class is available for different age groups.
