OCTA Chair Tam T. Nguyen provides a preview of OCTA's proposed $1.7 billion budget for the upcoming fiscal year.

Hi, I'm Octa Chair, Tam Win. Today at the Board meeting, we got a chance to review the budget. The balanced $1.7 billion budget, which we expect to consider at our next meeting would take effect July 1st. The budget keeps transportation improvements moving forward while responsibly planning for a balanced and sustainable transportation future for Orange County. 52% of the proposed budget is dedicated toward transit, which includes bus, rail and shuttle services, and the remainder is allocated toward other modes of transportation. The proposed budget also continues OCTA's focus on sustainability and resiliency, including ongoing investment in 0 emission bus and infrastructure and continuing coastal rail resiliency planning. In addition, the proposed budget accounts for enhanced transit services, including additional OC bus service, implementing optimized Metrolink rail service, and continuing work on the OC streetcar. The proposal reinforces OCTA's commitment to voters by delivering Measure M projects and programs as promised.
