This includes schedule coordination; mapping, wayfinding and real-time transit information as well as other customer-facing operations. Kicked off #InfrastructureWeek with more progress along the Northeast Corridor! FRA Administrator Amit Bose was proud to join representatives from New Jersey, New York, Amtrak, and U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) yesterday to mark 50% completion on the new Portal North Bridge, a project that will reduce disruptions and delays while increasing train speeds, reliability, and safety.   Once complete, the Portal North Bridge will no longer be known as a major chokepoint on the Northeast Corridor but rather as the link connecting people and communities across the East Coast. Funding from several USDOT programs over many years is helping to replace the current bridge.   At 114-year-old, the current swing bridge is one of several bridges and tunnels along the Northeast Corridor that are over a century old. Thanks to President Biden's Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, we are finally making progress to replace and upgrade these aging structures. Last November, FRA announced more than $16 billion in FRA Fed State-NEC grants for 25 projects of national significance to modernize and improve America's busiest passenger rail corridor. 

Pencil in May 26 - 29 next year for the HVTT symposia in Quebec, Canada. HVTT is a great opportunity to meet a significant share of the global lead professionals within heavy vehicles transport technology, expand network, learn and exchange knowledge and best practices. We in the Nordisk Vejforum NVF working group on Vehicles and Transportation arranged HVTT in Stockholm 2012, which had profound impact in terms of 'Setting Future Standards' in the Nordic countries. In 2013, Finland increased max gross vehicle combinations weight to 76 ton, followed by 34,5 m max length. In 2015, Sweden increased to 64 ton, and 2018 to 74 ton. Now we also have 34,5 m. Since 2012, also Denmark and Norway have taken numerous steps to increase the capacity of several types of heavy vehicles. These new standards have strongly increased sustainability of road transports. The HVTT symposia facilitated the evolution. Take the opportunity to participate in Quebec 2025! Joey would always say “Get on the bus with us – we’re moving forward.” Congrats again to Raj Ponnaluri, PE, PhD, PTOE, PMP, F.ITE for receiving the Joey Segal TSMO Leadership Award. ·      Sinclair Stolle and Ed Cox knocked it out of the park with their TI Subcommittee update. There’s a continuity with traveler information but a lot of innovative ideas moving traveler information resources forward. ·       The AASHTO Transportation Operations Manual! Have you read it? ·       The Roadway Digital Infrastructure (#RDI) update from John Corbin and David Kuehn provided great insights into our current landscape and what’s to come.
