This is the last section of Emmanuel Cadet’s essay about the attacks on DEI. Most of DEI attackers have lied about what DEI represents. They claim that DEI breeds racial hatred and division. Do you believe that they proffer such lies. They are not going to state that the birther movement was driven by hatred. Instead of blaming CEOs for bad decisions, it is now DEI’s fault without presenting any evidence. The brainwashing is on and middle class European Americans are falling for the owners’ and robber barons’ games just like their ancestors fell for the manipulations of wealthy landowners who brought European laborers into “whiteness” to prevent class warfare. How else can school teachers, factory workers, restaurant workers etc think that billionaires represent their best interest, otherwise? Meanwhile, bullyonaires are flying in private jets, sailing in super or mega yachts around the world, and laughing about not having to pay taxes while bringing judges on trips with them. For the billionaires, their attacks on DEI are all about their search to claim moral superiority for their avarice.

This will be a very interesting CPD session delivered by Jessica Cannon. Don’t miss it! When I first started my career in strata law, I formed a habit of reviewing all recent adjudication decisions each week. Everyone procrastinates at their desk from time to time, and that’s how I have done it for many years (and I still do it!). It’s interesting to see the disputes that arise and how adjudicators resolve them. You get a sense of the personal style adjudicators have. It widens your experience when you read what other schemes have gone through. One of the cases Jessica will delve into involves a dispute about whether a body corporate could exercise its statutory power to have contractors regularly enter a unit to abseil from its balcony for a project that would take a year. Is such lengthy and intrusive entry reasonably necessary for the works that have to be done? Can an owner or occupier push back on that?
