Have you ever considered the right to opt out of connectivity? In an increasingly digital world, the push for universal connectivity is often seen as an unquestionable goal. But what if connectivity doesn’t always equal progress? What if communities or individuals prefer alternatives that align better with their values, needs, or realities? This insightful article by Rhizomatica - shared with me by my colleague who taught me all about connectivity Raquel Renno Nunes (thanks again!) - challenges us to rethink the narrative of connectivity as a universal goal. It introduces a framework for recognising and respecting the choice to remain analog—an often overlooked perspective in discussions about digital rights and inclusion. This piece is especially relevant for anyone working at the intersection of technology, human rights, and sustainable development.
