It was part of the Voyager program, which also included Voyager 2. Voyager 1's primary mission was to study the outer planets of our solar system, including Jupiter and Saturn. After completing its primary mission, Voyager 1 continued its journey outward and is currently the farthest human-made object from Earth. It has entered interstellar space, the region beyond the influence of the Sun's magnetic field and solar wind. Honestly for me, this launch is as critical as the one of Starship. Or infact even more than Starship. It's going to mark a formal end of the ATLAS and DELTA LVs of the ULA and the success of this one launch is going to decide the trajectory of the ULA as a Launch Vehicle Agency. Space X has got no interest whatsoever in retiring its current fleet of Falcon vehicles and the STARSHIP'S success is just a matter of time. An unsuccessful launch of Vulcan Centaur would take ULA atleast a couple of years back and that would mean a complete domination of SPACE X over the Rocket industry. On the other hand, Vulcan Centaur has got a payload capacity of 27 tonnes to LEO where currently it is totally expendable. An upgraded variant with a recoverable first stage using Droneship Landing would take down the Payload capacity to approx 23 tonnes (presuming). That would still be 4-5 tonnes more than what Recoverable Falcon 9 can launch in the LEO, thus giving a stiff competition to the SPACE X's workhorse!
