Earlier this week, my friend shared their experience visiting an organization that prioritizes employee wellness - backed with concrete policies. The organization provides competitive base-salaries, offers highly discounted meals, provides private/all-gender restrooms, offers hybrid/remote work options (3 days out of 5), and mandates regular breaks throughout the day/week. To top it off, the company is considering unlimited PTO - not as individual team norms, but as policies. As I've reflected on this throughout the week, it has prompted me to consider my own research, leadership style, and practices. I'm also thinking about how we actively create spaces (or counter-spaces) for collective justice, increased inclusion, and equity. How committed are we to making wellness a practice and policy in our organizations? What practices and policies do you employ to ensure wellness within your teams? How would your team describe your workplace culture, particularly in terms of wellness and care? How "well" is your team? #ContemplativeWorkplaces #CompanyWellness #DEIpolicy
