https://lnkd.in/gD5YphzE Article title: Comparison between left and right radial access for coronary angiography Author(s): Cázares-Díazleal AC*; Dorantes-García J; Kiamco-Castillo R; Payro-Ramirez G; Betuel-Ivey J; Lozano-Sabido E; Arce-González J Journal: Journal of Cardiovascular Medicine and Cardiology Journal ISSN: 2455-2976 Abstract: In the 1980s, Campeu and Kiemeneij introduced the radial approach for angiography and angioplasty, respectively, in 2017 Kiemeneij described the site of radial distal access to the snuffbox, as the viability and safety of the left approach, either conventional or distal, remains a concern and there are no studies evaluating comfort yet. We randomly assigned 55 patients (9 were excluded), to either left radial access or right radial access (27 pts vs 28 pts). The primary end point was patient´s comfort, contrast volume, distance between first operator and patient, number of angiography catheters, fluoroscopy time. #CoronaryArteryDiseases #ValvularHeartDisease #Electrophysiology #CardiacElectrophysiology #Echocardiography #InterventionalCardiology #ClinicalCardiology #NuclearCardiology #AcuteCoronarySyndromes #ArrhythmiaEP #CVImaging #CVDPrevention #CardiacArrhythmias #Peertechz #PeertechzPublications #OpenAccess #ScientificJournals #PeerReviewedJournals #OpenAccessPublishers #CardiacPhysiology #CardiacRegeneration #CardiacRehabilitation #Cardiomyopathies #CardiovascularDrugs #CardiovascularTherapy #CardiovascularAnatomy #CongenitalHeartDefects

https://lnkd.in/gCHNnFmd Article title: Effect of Scatter, Attenuation and Resolution Correction on a Pediatric Myocardial Perfusion SPECT Image Author(s): Akiko Mogi*; Yasuyuki Takahashi; Kimiko Nakajima; Hiroshi Shimizu; Kyoko Saito; Ken-ichi Tomaru Journal: Journal of Cardiovascular Medicine and Cardiology Journal ISSN: 2455-2976 Abstract: Scatter correction, attenuation correction, and resolution correction are commonly used to improve the quantify ability of a SPECT image. However, almost none of these are discussed specifically for the pediatric patient. This study aims to suggest practical image processing techniques to improve pediatric SPECT reconstructions. We chose to use phantoms based on the size of a 3-year-old according to the body surface area (BSA). This age group has much postoperative follow-up. #PediatricMyocardialPerfusionSPECT #CorrectionMethod #EANMPaediatricDosageCard #CoronaryArteryDiseases #ValvularHeartDisease #Electrophysiology #CardiacElectrophysiology #Echocardiography #InterventionalCardiology #ClinicalCardiology #NuclearCardiology #AcuteCoronarySyndromes #ArrhythmiaEP #CVImaging #CVDPrevention #CardiacArrhythmias #Peertechz #PeertechzPublications #OpenAccess #ScientificJournals #PeerReviewedJournals #OpenAccessPublishers #CardiacPhysiology #CardiacRegeneration #CardiacRehabilitation #Cardiomyopathies #CardiovascularDrugs #CardiovascularTherapy #CardiovascularAnatomy #CongenitalHeartDefects

https://lnkd.in/gfXi-3zj Article title: A rare form of complex cardiac anomaly Author(s): Kritika; Rajaram Sharma*; Tapendra Tiwari; Saurabh Goyal Journal: Journal of Cardiovascular Medicine and Cardiology Journal ISSN: 2455-2976 Description: Congenital corrected Transposition Of Great Arteries (TGA) is one of the rarest complex cardiac anomalies, comprising 1% of Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) and 20% of cases of fetal TGA [1,2]. It is characterized by an atrioventricular discordance with a concurrent ventricular-arterial discordance. Its features include the aorta, which arises from the left-sided morphologic right ventricle, anterior and left of the pulmonary artery. The pulmonary artery arises from the right-sided morphologic left ventricle and VSD (Ventricular Septal Defect) [3]. The moderator band, the anatomical landmark for the right ventricle, is present on the left side. Associated cardiac defects are also common, including a VSD, pulmonary stenosis or atresia, Atrial Septal Defect (ASD), Double Outlet Right Ventricle (DORV), tricuspid valve anomalies and situs inversus. Our case of a complex cardiac anomaly is nearly related to the congenital incomplete corrected category. #CoronaryArteryDiseases #ValvularHeartDisease #Electrophysiology #CardiacElectrophysiology #Echocardiography #InterventionalCardiology #ClinicalCardiology #NuclearCardiology #AcuteCoronarySyndromes #ArrhythmiaEP #CVImaging #CVDPrevention #CardiacArrhythmias #Peertechz #PeertechzPublications #OpenAccess #ScientificJournals #PeerReviewedJournals #OpenAccessPublishers #CardiacPhysiology #CardiacRegeneration #CardiacRehabilitation #Cardiomyopathies #CardiovascularDrugs #CardiovascularTherapy #CardiovascularAnatomy #CongenitalHeartDefects

https://lnkd.in/gUd55qmQ Article title: Sinoatrial Blocks in Hyperthyroidism Treated with Beta-Blockers: A Case of Paradoxical Treatment Author(s): Caterina Chiara De Carlini*; Ester Meles; Roberto Galbiati; Marco Di Sabato; Gaetano Gentile; Andrea Farina; Stefano Maggiolini Journal: Journal of Cardiovascular Medicine and Cardiology Journal ISSN: 2455-2976 Abstract: We describe an interesting case of a 52 year-old patient affected by thyrotoxicosis crisis, in whom sinoatrial blocks were associated with syncope and treated efficiently with beta-blockers. We hypothesized the Bezold-Jarisch reflex as the mechanism which leads to bradycardia and hypotension with syncope related to prolonged tachycardia. This hypothesis has not been, to our knowledge, considered in previous studies and offers therapeutic methods, as the patient was not treated with permanent pacing. #SinoatrialBlocks #Hyperthyroidism #BetaBlockers #CoronaryArteryDiseases #ValvularHeartDisease #Electrophysiology #CardiacElectrophysiology #Echocardiography #InterventionalCardiology #ClinicalCardiology #NuclearCardiology #AcuteCoronarySyndromes #ArrhythmiaEP #CVImaging #CVDPrevention #CardiacArrhythmias #Peertechz #PeertechzPublications #OpenAccess #ScientificJournals #PeerReviewedJournals #OpenAccessPublishers #CardiacPhysiology #CardiacRegeneration #CardiacRehabilitation #Cardiomyopathies #CardiovascularDrugs #CardiovascularTherapy #CardiovascularAnatomy #CongenitalHeartDefects

https://lnkd.in/gkrDHdPP Article title: A Case of Balloon Rupture Cause Serious Complication during Percutaneous Coronary Intervention Author(s): Jianan Li; Shuzheng Lyu; Fei Yuan; Rui Tian; Xiantao Song* Journal: Journal of Cardiovascular Medicine and Cardiology Journal ISSN: 2455-2976 Abstract: Balloon rupture in the process of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) leading to coronary artery dissection, subintimal hematoma and hematoma extension after stent implantation is an uncommon complication, but it has important clinical significance. The reason for balloon rupture during PCI and hematoma extension after stent implantation is not clear. In this case, Balloon rupture may be due to excessive balloon dilation pressure, severe coronary artery calcification, balloon dilatation with gas presence and poor quality of the balloon; hematoma extension after stent implantation may be for remaining undiscovered hematoma and dissection. We should pay attention to these risk factors and prevent the occurrence of clinical complications in the treatment of PCI. #CoronaryArteryDiseases #ValvularHeartDisease #Electrophysiology #CardiacElectrophysiology #Echocardiography #InterventionalCardiology #ClinicalCardiology #NuclearCardiology #AcuteCoronarySyndromes #ArrhythmiaEP #CVImaging #CVDPrevention #CardiacArrhythmias #Peertechz #PeertechzPublications #OpenAccess #ScientificJournals #PeerReviewedJournals #OpenAccessPublishers #CardiacPhysiology #CardiacRegeneration #CardiacRehabilitation #Cardiomyopathies #CardiovascularDrugs #CardiovascularTherapy #CardiovascularAnatomy #CongenitalHeartDefects

https://lnkd.in/gG6frUiE Article title: The Buddy Ballooning Technique- A simple debulking technique Author(s): Vincent Dangoisse* Journal: Journal of Cardiovascular Medicine and Cardiology Journal ISSN: 2455-2976 Abstract: The author describes a simple and inexpensive way to deliver high pressures within an atherosclerotic coronary artery and reports two cases. The technique used two non-compliant (NC) balloons placed in parallel and inflated together within the same coronary segment. The cases illustrate two possible indications for the technique: lesion resistant to one adequately sized NC balloon or not fully expanded coronary stents after high-pressure non-compliant ballooning. #PercutaneousCoronaryAngioplasty #Debulking #PlaqueRupture #NCBalloon #CoronaryArteryDiseases #ValvularHeartDisease #Electrophysiology #CardiacElectrophysiology #Echocardiography #InterventionalCardiology #ClinicalCardiology #NuclearCardiology #AcuteCoronarySyndromes #ArrhythmiaEP #CVImaging #CVDPrevention #CardiacArrhythmias #Peertechz #PeertechzPublications #OpenAccess #ScientificJournals #PeerReviewedJournals #OpenAccessPublishers #CardiacPhysiology #CardiacRegeneration #CardiacRehabilitation #Cardiomyopathies #CardiovascularDrugs #CardiovascularTherapy #CardiovascularAnatomy #CongenitalHeartDefects

https://lnkd.in/giPSSRq9 Article title: The Changes of Myocardium in Minipigs after Coronary Vein Ligation Observed by Transmission Electron Microscopy Author(s): Juntao Wang; Haijia Yu; Huihui Song; Yapan Yang; Leiming Zhang; Hongxing Luo; Panpan Chen; Yinjie Chu Journal: Journal of Cardiovascular Medicine and Cardiology Journal ISSN: 2455-2976 Abstract: Background: The study of coronary artery disease has been quite thorough. But there is few study on coronary vein disease. In clinical practice, some patients have suspicious symptoms of coronary artery disease without any evidence of coronary artery spasm, but coronary angiography showed no obvious stenosis in coronary artery. It may have relationship to coronary venous dysfunction. This study aims to develop a coronary vein ligation model, to investigate the effect of coronary vein occlusion on myocardial cells in normal miniature pigs. #CoronaryVein #Ligation #Cardiomyocyte #Autophagosome #Angina #CoronaryArteryDiseases #ValvularHeartDisease #Electrophysiology #CardiacElectrophysiology #Echocardiography #InterventionalCardiology #ClinicalCardiology #NuclearCardiology #AcuteCoronarySyndromes #ArrhythmiaEP #CVImaging #CVDPrevention #CardiacArrhythmias #Peertechz #PeertechzPublications #OpenAccess #ScientificJournals #PeerReviewedJournals #OpenAccessPublishers #CardiacPhysiology #CardiacRegeneration #CardiacRehabilitation #Cardiomyopathies #CardiovascularDrugs #CardiovascularTherapy #CardiovascularAnatomy #CongenitalHeartDefects
