For the past two years, I’ve worked as a Clinical and Technical Advisor for Organ Recovery Systems. My role involves training clients on LifePort Kidney Transporter, which gives me opportunities to travel and meet new people in our industry. Prior to joining ORS, I worked as a Surgical Recovery Coordinator for DonorConnect, an Organ Procurement Organization located in Utah. In this role, I pumped kidneys and was involved with LifePort Liver Transporter as part of the PILOT clinical trial. ORS gives me the flexibility to work hard, spend time with my family, and enjoy my hobbies, like rock climbing. Being on the cutting edge of transplant technology and knowing I help make a difference in the lives of those awaiting organ transplants make this role very rewarding. 💜#WhoisORS

I have had an immensely humbling experience over the last few days. In short, my daughter decided to grace the world with her presence very early (29 weeks). When seeing her in the NICU, it was an incredible sight to see, with all of the others, babies and parents alike, who are sharing in the same experience as myself and my family. While I was enamored by my daughter in this temporary living situation, I saw something that truly brought me to a stand still. I saw something not only VERY familiar to me, but something that I literally very well may have helped produce. In my previous occupation, I had the pleasure of working for Drummond Scientific Company, a medical device manufacturing and distribution company, which I spent 15 years of my life. One of the devices that I oversaw and helped manufacture, was this particular tube, a 220ul blood collection tube that has markings on the 55ul, 110ul, and 165ul mark. For those who may be curious, this tube is specifically effective when the balanced amount of heparin mixes with the blood from the patient and in doing so,will determine the measurement of blood gases, electrolytes, and the patients pH levels. Now it was being used, in the field, on my daughter. I couldn't help but think if this tube was one that had passed through my hands before it was being used, but I'm damn proud to know that I know my daughter is being treated with some of the best personnel, and the most effective devices in the field. #Drummondscientificcompany #whereinovationscales #dsc #bio220ul #wrappingroom #HUP #NICU

Introducing Ro’s GLP-1 Supply Tracker – a free, open access tool to help patients and providers find out which medications are available (and where) and which aren’t. https://lnkd.in/en5qTGAa We built this tracker to give patients an easier way to navigate GLP-1 shortages, by: 1️⃣ Clearly showing which GLP-1s are currently in shortage by drug and dose 2️⃣ Making it easy for everyone to crowdsource where and when they find GLP-1 supply or, when they cannot, to submit a shortage report to the FDA 3️⃣ Letting anyone join our “Supply List” that sends real-time alerts when GLP-1 supply is located at a pharmacy near them 4️⃣ Sending automated notifications to patients and providers who sign-up letting them know when a drug’s status changes on the FDA’s list. Our hope is that this tracker will help ease the burden that drug shortages have placed on patients and providers, and increase access to these life-changing treatments.
