Now that we're past Labor Day, most of us are winding down the Summer activities. We want to know: when do you pack away your Summer toys? Do you tuck them away at the end of August or do you keep them out well into September? We're talking about pools, jet skis, boats, etc., when do you shut things down? Tell us in the comments!

Is this the most irritating Summer thing for you, too? Summer is here, and RVers everywhere are headed out to beaches and lake shores across the country. They’ll get to dig their toes in the sand, frolic in the water, and simply enjoy fun in the sun. But all that fun on the shores has one downside: SAND. And, as Anikan Skywalker so elegantly points out, “it gets everywhere.” Pick a solution here: How to Keep Sand OUT of Your RV This Summer (9 Tips!) https://lnkd.in/gWSD8q6X

Ever wondered how much the Starship's bellyflop actually slows it down? The mighty Starship doesn't just fall from the sky like a rock—it bellyflops! But by how much does this iconic maneuver reduce its speed? Are we talking 5% or closer to 50%? Let’s break it down! During a bellyflop, the Starship spreads its fins and uses its massive surface area to increase drag (kind of like doing a skydiver spread eagle ). When it falls through the atmosphere in this position, the drag force slows it down dramatically. Here’s the cool part: While the fins and bellyflop don’t slow it to 50% of its max speed, it does slow the fall by around 70-80%. That's huge! To put numbers on it, imagine falling at 2,000 m/s, but after the bellyflop, the speed drops to around 400-500 m/s. That's a huge difference when you're trying not to turn into a fireball on reentry! Now, about the fin idea—blowing air through holes to “increase” the effective size of the fins sounds like a sci-fi twist! While increasing drag sounds good in theory, shooting air out might not work as you'd expect in the crazy environment of reentry. The forces involved are enormous, and anything like that would have to be designed to handle insane pressures and temperatures. So, it's fun to imagine... but not quite practical just yet! In any case, those fins are already doing a stellar job.

Who knew that spending childhood trying to keep a wagonload of settlers alive through dysentery, poor decisions, and suspiciously deep rivers was the ultimate bootcamp for real-world evidence and outcomes research? Key lessons learned along the trail: ➡️ Plan for the journey ahead. Overly burdensome protocols are the modern-day equivalent of overloading the wagon. You gotta be thoughtful and strategic ➡️ No shortcuts! Fording the river might save time, but that’s how you break an axle - or worse, your dataset. Stick to the trail and keep your staff out of jail. ➡️ Pack snacks. All the snacks. Take care of your people and they’ll help you avoid a Donner Party fate. Every wagon mishap was clearly preparing me for something bigger: helping prople stay healthy on the unpredictable trail of life 😆. Now I just need someone to design a healthcare system with fewer snake bites, blizzards, and bandit attacks… (Oregon trail inspiration credit to Amanda Goode 😜)
