Behind the curtain (TLDR). This was our process for the Richardson Sports video: - Client briefed us on the idea, Quality in Every Stitch v2 - We concept Hat Valley with the RS team, crafted up a loose storyline and interview questions and started preproduction: gear, locations, lodging, snacks, shot list, snacks, all the things. - Meanwhile we started putting together a playlist of vibe inspiration for the music creation, discussing with RS team - heaps of vibe alignment. Discussion of guitar tones, and musical eras and favorite artists and why it works. It’s the best. - Production in Eugene for 2 days: 4 interviews, b roll of many many locations, snacks and about 30 soda waters (just me) and some waffles. - Back to Portland where we then track the songs. Monday morning at 9 am and you’re tracking music professionally, you have a “this is my job now” moment and get back to work. Four 2 minute songs in 4 hours and then home with Tommy to mix. - Video editing and art / design prep along with photo selects and color grading are next. Lots of revisions, nothing that sexy in this phase but it’s also everything. F**k this up and you lose. - Edit rounds galore, client feedback. First one is always scary, because there’s always so much feedback. It’s the moment you realize how different the vision in your head is from the vision in their head - and then the process of aligning those visions or creating a better more singular vision (the goal, and outcome of this video - I think). - Final color graded video is delivered, along with multiple vertical and horizontal short cut “teaser” videos. We pride ourselves on the borderline obscene amount of content we deliver. We also hand over youtube thumbnail, selects and really whatever else is requested. - Delivery to the masses, along with the moment of complete exhilaration at finishing a big project. Also, the inevitable crash and panic of now what - until you look at your todo list and realize it will be fine. What makes a company truly great to work with? Is it just about skills and results—or could it be something more? Let me challenge your thinking: Look for a team that genuinely enjoys working together, that knows how to work hard and have fun. At Blue Compass, we believe in that balance. Every year, we break into smaller teams to compete, collaborate, and just have fun together during our Blue Circle Games—an afternoon filled with food, drinks, and activities that test our problem-solving, teamwork, and even our competitive edge. Last Friday’s event was no exception. I had the honor of inviting some friends and old colleagues to help out, and they all walked away with the same impression: our team is connected, collaborative, and truly enjoys one another’s company. It's something you can feel, whether it’s in a game or at work. Great weather, great competition, great teamwork—and most of all, great relationships. When choosing a partner or vendor, don’t overlook the value of a team that loves working together. That’s what makes a company stand out. What do you value most in a team you partner with? https://lnkd.in/gQMbDrDr

Today is A level exam result day in the UK. This will bring stress and anxiety to a lot of young adults. Catastrophising that their future is doomed, comparing themselves to peers and fear of bringing shame on families. Some of these people will have support networks around them, some won't. As business leaders we need to make this very clear, their future is not doomed, no matter what the result. We can reach out and help young people by providing a listening ear, guidance and finding that diamond within everyone worth polishing and shining. Suicide has affected and impacted my life. I have lost close family and friends to feeling like there's no way out. There is always a way out. Today, tensions and stress will be heightened. Be aware, be kind and be supportive of the people who are around you. Exam results do not define us. We are more than numbers and letters on a piece of paper.
We had the best time at Flackstock last week 🙌 It's such a special event and we're feeling really grateful to be part of it for the third year running. Thank you to everyone who came along to support and made the day so incredible. 💚

We’re sharing what brings joy outside of work to Adriana, our Director of Purpose and Programs — pickleball! At the start of the year, Adriana set two New Year's resolutions: to be more active both physically and within her community. Joining a local rec league for pickleball helped her achieve both goals efficiently. Pickleball has quickly become her passion and by scheduling her pickleball sessions and placing them on her work calendar, she creates soft time pressure that helps her wrap up her workday and make time for activities that recharge her. Adriana’s experience is an example of how we actively strive to implement the concepts we teach, and support one another in following through. All of our courses encourage the use of a concept called “What Helps You Show Up At Your Best” - a way to find personal activities that prioritize effective recharging which ultimately results in better performance at work. We believe that supporting personal passions helps bring our best selves to our professional roles. What activities help you recharge and show up at your best? Share your thoughts in the comments.
