New initiatives to reduce energy consumption at Orifarm in Łyszkowice, Poland! At Orifarm, we continuously invest in building a better and more sustainable future. This includes initiatives to reduce our energy consumption. The largest share of Orifarm’s direct energy consumption is at our production site in Łyszkowice, Poland. Therefore, initiatives to reduce Orifarm’s CO2 footprint and energy consumption are given high priority. All part of our ongoing Lean Energy initiative to boost energy efficiency and sustainability. ⚡ Freecooling Project: We've enhanced our Freecooling system, which uses winter air to cool our facilities without energy-intensive compressors. By repurposing existing drycoolers, this modernization will save electricity annually by efficiently operating at temperatures below +5°C. ⚡ Heat Recovery from Air Compressors: Partnering with Atlas Copco, we've innovatively repurposed the heat generated by our air compressors to power technological equipment. This initiative will save thermal energy annually. ⚡ Heat pump installation: Our new installation to support a heat pump from Gazuno, connected to our chilled water return pipeline. Expected to save more thermal electrical energy annually, this project will reduce our carbon footprint and enhance our sustainable practices. At Orifarm, we believe that every step towards innovation and energy savings greatly impacts our future and brings us further in our sustainability journey.

One of the most significant shifts I’ve noticed recently is businesses adoption of renewable energy solutions. Businesses, both large and small, are placing greater emphasis on sustainability by turning to cleaner, greener energy sources to power their operations. It’s incredibly exciting to see companies take real, actionable steps towards reducing their carbon footprints and making more energy-conscious decisions. Green energy straight from the roof: 199.80 kWp for a more sustainable future At Timm Ropes, we decided to move from words to deeds and invest in a future powered by clean energy. We installed 370 solar panels with a total output of 199.80 kWp on the roof of our building. Each panel with an output of 540 Wp contributes to reducing our carbon footprint and moves us closer to more sustainable operations. And the results? In the last year of operation, in 2023, we achieved a 13% share of our own generated energy against total consumption. This represents savings of 186,354 kWh of electricity from traditional sources and a significant reduction in CO2 emissions. This year, so far, we recorded an increase in our own production and the share of our own energy against the supplied energy climbed to 16.6%. We have already generated 174,722 kWh of green energy and expect further savings by the end of the year.
