What a BIM Engineer do? A BIM Engineer (Building Information Modeling Engineer) is a professional who specializes in using advanced digital tools and technologies to design, plan, and manage building projects. They work with BIM software (like Revit, Navisworks, and others) to create detailed 3D models of buildings that integrate architectural, structural, and mechanical elements. 𝗕𝗜𝗠 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗿, 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿: 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀? 📈 I've experienced being a BIM Modeler, Coordinator, and even a Manager. How can we progress from each stage to the next? 🤔 It's a question many ask me. Personally, I believe that years of working as a BIM Modeler eventually lead you to become a Coordinator, but my progression to Coordinator was interesting. 🏗 Years ago, I learned to work with Navisworks, to detect clashes, and to coordinate and manage disciplines. To put it plainly, it all started with Navisworks. 🔧 Over time, I gained a lot of experience, and I believe being a Coordinator is not just about software, but it starts with Navisworks. This software is so engaging that working with it can be enjoyable. 🚀 What else is necessary besides software to be a BIM Coordinator? I'd be glad if you could write in the comments for me. 🛠👷♂️ Share with your network🤝 Keep Learning Keep Growing💚 Ghasem Ariyani #BIM #Revit #Dynamo #Construction #collaboration #Architecture #RevitMEP #bim_coordinator #bim_modeler #bim_manager #BuildingInformationModeling #architect #Rhino3D #BuildingDesign #AutoCAD #Rhino3D #BIM_Projectct #Dynamo #BIM_Projectct

So you are a BIM Coordinator / Manager on a project and your team is using Revit for modeling. You work with a new client, you don't have any standards set up yet. What is the ONE single THING that you shouldn't start a project without? Because if you do, you asking yourself for a headache Of course, we talk about Revit Template. There are many ways to create one and there are various approaches to achieve relatively similar goal. And the goal is to - Standardize the modeling work of project participants. Each company, each discipline, and each project can have its template or templates. All depends on needs. But there is a common list of things that in my opinion should be included in it. Do you want to know what it is? Check out the list below.👇 If you learned something today, reshare ♻️ Is there anything else you would add to this list?

As a BIM Manager/Coordinator, what is your Model Coordination Strategy ? There are two possible scenarios : 1. Post Modelling Coordination: Where modelling is done without any services space allocation. Once models are ready then run clash tests and start solving them till 0. 2. Pre Modelling Coordination: Where before modelling starts, a brief study has to be done and possible locations are determined for each service. Explain the functionalities and priorities of services to the modellers and let them progress with 0 clash modelling each day. By honest observation, you will find most follow the first route. Any idea what is the challenge in adopting the 2nd route ? A guide for BIM Coordinators is here: https://lnkd.in/dRJBsQCr

Great as a quick roadmap about mastering Navisworks skills as a BIM Coordinator.
As a BIM Coordinator, I need to know "TimeLiner" - NOT TRUE. Here are 9 other features you HAVE TO master. 👇 1. 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗔𝗴𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 The obvious one - Without a federated model we can't perform any Clash Detection. 2. 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗦𝗲𝘁𝘀 This helps in quickly isolating and reviewing particular elements in the model. 3. 𝗩𝗶𝗲𝘄𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀 We use it to document issues, share progress and changes, and communice with stakeholders. 4. 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗵 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 The cornerstone of coordination. Here we identify geometrical issues - preventing costly errors and delays. 5. 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗵 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 Thanks to this feature - we organize and manage clashes by grouping similar issues. 6. 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 Without it, you won't be able to run detailed inspections and presentations of the building. 7. 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗧𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 You use it to measure distances, angles, and areas within the model. 8. 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝘂𝗽𝘀 We mark up issues, making it easier for team members to understand and act on them. 9. 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗿 We apply colors to various model or model elements - This helps in visual inspections So next time you will think about learning Navis, keep this list in mind. "TimeLiner" is not a crucial feature for BIM Coordinators - trust me. I know tons of BIM Coordinators from all over the world. Only a handful use it.
