This is your chance to be at the forefront of innovation, combining civil engineering, architectural design, chemical engineering, and low-cost build and manufacturing into one cutting-edge system. 📍 Location: London 📅 Type: Contract Key Responsibilities: System Design & Optimisation: Develop and optimize sub-system performance, working closely with the Systems team to achieve the lowest levelized cost of capture. Innovation & IP Protection: Foster a culture of innovation within the team and ensure intellectual property is safeguarded. Model Development: Collaborate with performance engineers to create models of the sub-system and integrate them into system models. Mechanical & Electrical Design: Lead the development of mechanical and electrical aspects of the sub-system. Risk Management: Identify and manage risks, failure modes, and engineering challenges. Lifecycle Cost Management: Work with systems and deployment teams to ensure the lowest lifecycle cost of CO2 capture and innovative plant construction methods. Supply Chain Ownership: Oversee the sub-system core bill of materials and ensure a scalable and cost-effective supply chain. Industrial Design: Ensure designs are suitable for rapid deployment, low cost, and planning permission approval. Supplier Management: Manage technology suppliers, focusing on development and testing. Qualifications: Degree level or equivalent qualification in engineering or science. At least 10 years' experience in a relevant engineering industry such as civil engineering, construction, automotive, or low-cost manufacturing. Proven track record of developing and delivering mechanical systems interacting with fluids. Direct accountability for a whole system or major sub-system. Experience across the product lifecycle, including technology development, supply chain development, manufacturing, and assembly processes.
