World Engineering day is today and has a focus on sustainability, so lets talk about windfarms. Windfarms are an excellent example of amazing engineering. I have choosen to purchase part of a wind farm to be sustainable and help with energy costs! Some fun facts about windfarms 💨 An average turbine blade is about 200 ft long 💨 Offshore wind speeds tend to be faster and more consistent than on land 💨 The wind energy sector can generate employment for four million people globally by 2030. We have an exciting pair of solutions now available from DNV to help floating wind foundation designers have a better representation of the turbine to help optimise their design, without changing from their preferred analysis tools. One of the key messages from Giles Dickson with regards to Auctions design is that EU member States must learn from the UK Gov by indexing Auctions power prices so as to Projects can take off amidst all the market volatility and high inflation experienced in the last 2 years. 2023 was a tough year for renewables and we must take action after taking in all the lessons learned
