The concept of solopreneurs isn't new, but what's different in today's world is the focus on how much growth can be positively impacted if solopreneurs are connected into a network of their peers. Building a community for a specific audience with several different ways for a person to choose to participate is a critical factor in inclusion and accessibility. Our Women Forward initiaive looks to do just that. Learn more: https://ow.ly/vVHn50Sa3mh

Commercially Minded Leader | Extensive Experience in Sales, Marketing & Growth Strategies | Passionate About Making a Positive Impact on the World
I’m white, male and a millennial (just). Probably the most privileged demographic to have existed. I recognise this isn’t the same for everyone. This my #IWD shoutout to the phenomenal women who make the world go round! First and foremost, my beautiful wife, Alaine. She’s my rock & the strongest source of inspiration I know. She amazes me everyday with her strength and resilience to what life throws her way. Her support pushes me to be a better person every day. I work day to day with some incredible women too, Georgie the CEO of ARVRA Wellness. She’s like two scoops of pre-workout, all the time....24/7, a bundle of passion and energy, kicking ass in the very male world of tech. There’s Cheriee, another pocket rocket (pun intended) who manages to do things that would even impress Yoda. For me everyday is a school day working with her. I’m grateful and fortunate enough to have worked with so many incredible women and over the years. But let's be real, and deal with the elephant in the room: despite all the amazing women out there, the playing field is still far from level. We need equality, not just on International Women's Day, but every single day. So, rather than this being a tokenistic gesture, I want it to more of a call to action. Be an active ally, help amplify women's voices, challenge biases, and work together to create a world where every woman can thrive. #IWD #EqualityForAll

Whether it’s a friend, mentor, or even yourself - who do you celebrate this #IWD24? So I’m only a little behind this year, which means I’m just on time for International Women's Day. This year’s theme feels like a natural extension of embracing equity, which is to #InspireInclusion. As is traditional, I’ll once again call out that this really shouldn't be a cause we have to fight for. Because there are thousands of years of societal and cultural history and yet despite all our technological prowess, a trip to the moon, and the looming ruination of the entire planet women are not, as 50% of the gender spectrum (for simplicity's sake) treated entirely as they should be. As is, it pains me to see that things still aren’t where they shouldn’t be. And in the spirit of inclusion, I hope you’ll all join me in considering the following (just like Bill Nye). First, I acknowledge that we continue to make strides. The company continues to make a conscious effort. First, a recap from another post, on equality and equity, because they're not the same: Cambridge (University) defines equality as " the right of different groups of people to have a similar social position and receive the same treatment." Equity on the other hand is (in a social context) seen as "the quality of being fair or impartial." I loved last year’s theme because equity is the keystone that often gets lost in equality – not all things for all people but bespoke solutions should be workable when we need them. Despite these positives, inclusion is still an important topic – we need to make a world where everyone is not only considered, but valued, validated, and included. So I continue the pledge to continue to post about IWD each year. We can do more than just raise awareness. There are places to volunteer, and the campuses are once again accepting donations to supply women's shelters with. In recent years I've come to appreciate what awareness posts can do. It's a reminder that while things are better than they were, they're still not good enough. Maybe they never will be. But just like personal development, we can't stay in one place forever. We have to continue to evolve, grow, learn and sometimes drive the change we want to see in the world. For myself, more than an awareness post I hope I, and we, can continue to encourage discussion, and look for solutions. I know this means that some who may not feel herd, or who feel meanly targeted need to come forward, but it’s the job of the rest of us to create an environment for that’s possible. And we don’t have to look far and wide – just as far as our community and keep it at the heart of our efforts. After all, what is an embrace if not a bringing together? #blog #internationalwomensday #reflection #build #community #support #ally

"42% of women working in tech have experienced harassment. Additionally, 70% of women founders told us they’ve been treated differently while raising funding for their startup because of their gender." Women, especially in #STEM and tech spaces are still experiencing harassment, inequality, and a lack of support. If we want to commit to changing the system and boosting equality, we should be approaching our #DEI initiatives knowing they will be a long-term commitment that needs to be nurtured and guided. We have the tools, we just have to commit! #WomenInTech
