Today’s conflicts are exacerbated and prolonged by recurring instances of exclusion, discrimination, and the infringement of human rights, all occurring alongside elevated levels of corruption and a widespread decline in the enforcement of the rule of law and accountability.    This new UNU-CPR report, authored by researchers from UNU-CPR [Charlie Hunt, Emma Bapt, Adam Day (he/him)], the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC), the Center for Civilians in Conflict, and SIPRI, offers a comparative, empirically backed assessment of the ways UN peace operation efforts to advance human rights contribute to mission effectiveness and broader mission objectives.    Access "UN Peace Operations and Human Rights: A Thematic Study" here: https://lnkd.in/ernWsgus

#Financing of the #YPSagenda needs to be #strengthened if the UN is to meet its responsibility to young people and unlock their potential to accelerate implementation of the SDGs. To do so, it is critical that donors and UN entities build on their #commitments and make concrete, #evidenceinformed #investments in YPS, including young people’s role in #peacebuilding.

In 2023, CSIS became the first intelligence service in the world to action the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDA).
