My Football Adventures: A “Self-Motivation” story. Through self-motivation, relentless practice, and studying the game's greats, the intention of playing not just for fun but in a team began to seem achievable when I joined up to play in this Football Match. With encouraging words, leading by example, and always pushing others to believe in themselves as much as they did, the team's atmosphere transformed. We fostered a belief that together, we could rise above our ranks, play better, and win. My moment of glory wasn’t far behind. In this crucial match, with the team's hopes hanging by a thread. One goal came, a slick maneuver past the defense, a shot fired into the net. Then another, a testament to determination, fighting through fatigue and pressure. And then, miraculously, a third – a hat-trick of goals that seemed to defy belief. It was Unbelievably Magical. As the final whistle blew, victory was ours, but it was more than just a win; it was a testament to what belief, motivation, and teamwork could achieve. The team, once underdogs, had been transformed into champions, with me, not just a player, but a leader who had shown that the greatest victories often start with a single step of self-motivation. You don't know what you'll find around the corner. We travelled up to Manchester for the Super League Grand Final over the weekend. Whilst on a lunch time stroll we spotted Willie Peters, boss of one of the finalists, Hull KR. Looking a bit further just over his shoulder I saw that he's with a few current and recent past greats of the game (too many to name). This included the biggest name in the sport at the moment, 4 time NRL championship winner Nathan Cleary. I'm not one to idolise sports personalities, but what Willie and Nathan have done in their respective careers over the last few years has been outstanding. They've both managed to build on what was already there through work rate, high standards, and ingenuity. I also think that they see things from a different perspective to others in their field. This is something that at times has helped me and others I've worked with. Whether it's moving to Australia or Europe to try something new, or staying with your current employer and pushing for a new path. As well as doing the basics of working hard and maintaining high standards, you may benefit from taking a step back and asking if there is another way to look at a problem or your career path. Often there is no need to change what you're doing. But at times you will benefit greatly by asking what may be around the corner if a new path is taken. #uptherobins #superleague #movetoaustralia

This season has been an incredible journey—full of ups and downs, moments of doubt, and times of pure excitement. We were written off at the start, predicted to finish 11th, but we fought back with everything we had and finished 4th. That’s a huge achievement in itself, and one we should be proud of. Sure, Friday night didn’t go our way, and that’s tough to swallow, but it doesn’t take away from everything we’ve accomplished as a team. Romans 8:28 really speaks to me in moments like this—reminding us that there’s a bigger purpose behind the journey, even in defeat. God’s working for the good of those who trust Him, and I believe there’s a reason for everything we’ve been through this season. From being underestimated to battling through all the challenges. This team has shown so much resilience, and that’s something the team will carry forward. The truth is, some of the biggest victories aren’t measured by the scoreboard but in the growth we experienced as a team. The bonds we built, the lessons we learned—those are things that last beyond any game. This season has shaped us in ways we might not even realize yet. And while it’s tough in the moment, I know this is just one chapter in a bigger story, one that’s still unfolding. I’ve got to say, none of this would have been possible without the love and support of my amazing wife and kids. They’ve been with me every step of the way, through the highs and lows, and I couldn’t be more grateful for them. They’re my rock, and their belief in me keeps me going, no matter what. So, while the result might sting right now, I’m excited about what’s ahead. This is just another stepping stone toward something greater, and I know the best is yet to come. Should we compare ourselves to others? We as human beings inherently compare ourselves to each other, whether it is our physical attributes, our test scores, our achievements, our wealth and so on. Often we are told that "the only person you should compare yourself to, is the person you were yesterday", whilst doing this can enable personal progress, I have realised that there could be some merit in comparing ourselves to others, as long as it is done in the right way. I am an avid football fan and I often here about managers talk about #internalcompetition i.e. two top players in the same squad, competing for the same position on match days, for example Aaron Wan-Bissaka versus Diogo Dalot for the right back position at Manchester United, two great players both at the peak of their game trying to outdo each other week in, week out to get the coveted spot on the match sheet. The key is not comparing yourself to another person, but comparing your #output to another persons output. Wan-Bissaka will not compare the size of his house to Dalot´s house when vying for the spot in the team, but he will compare the hours spent training, the miles he has ran, tackles won, aerial duels won etc to understand what he needs to do better to make him more applicable for selection. This is #competitiveness done right, and we can each exemplify this in our daily lives, whether it is at work, in the gym or some other endeavour. #Progress is key!

#GullytoGlory Jamie Vardy's Unlikely Rise to Stardom 🌟 Imagine a regular guy, Jamie Vardy, working odd jobs and playing in the lower leagues, dreaming big but seemingly far from the glitz of the Premier League. At 29, an age where many consider the twilight of their sports career, Vardy was just getting started. His story takes a turn when he joins Leicester City, becoming a key player in their miraculous Premier League win in 2016, defying the astonishing 5000/1 odds. 🎰 Vardy's journey from the grassroots to the pinnacle of English football is not just inspiring; it's a reminder of the relentless pursuit of dreams. His record-breaking 11 consecutive Premier League goals were not just about scoring, they were statements of #resilience, #determination, and the spirit of an underdog. As someone who's always believed in the power of perseverance, Vardy's story deeply resonates with me. It's a testament to the fact that it's never too late to chase your dreams, no matter how distant they seem. ⚽💭 How does Jamie Vardy's incredible journey inspire you in your pursuits? Do you see his story as a beacon of hope, proving that with hard work and belief, anything is achievable, regardless of where you start? 🎖️ Arpita Bhawal Shalini Dewan Aman Mann Vatsal Pant Dr. Udit Telang Yash Sharma Mehul Agarwal Sandeep Bayyana #MondayMotivators #JamieVardyStory #NeverTooLate

🎖️What’s more important…graft or talent? This photo was taken just before I played Exeter City, a team that Olly Watkins (who is currently in Germany in England’s Euros squad) played for, in front of 4000 people. Technically, I was not a good footballer. 🦶 No left foot to speak of. 💥 Hideous touch. 👃 Got a nose bleed whenever I went in the opposition’s box. In spite of all that - I played for my University Football first XI team, even captained them once. I was surrounded by incredible talent. Scholars, people who went on to be semi-pro footballers…in terms of ability we were literally leagues apart. To even have a chance of playing in that team, I knew I would have to be able to run, and run…and run for 90 minutes. I worked very hard, and would frequently vomit during/after the Strength and Conditioning sessions we had at 6:30am on Fridays. Meanwhile, the most technically gifted player I’ve ever shared a pitch with (maybe even including Olly Watkins) outright refused to train that early…and got dropped from the team. This aggravated me more than I can explain. I would’ve given anything for a fraction of his natural ability, he could’ve been a professional footballer. Here I am throwing up against a tree to edge into the team and he couldn’t even be arsed to get out of bed. I'm technically the worst player in the squad, and he can waltz passed players like they're not there. But I’m in that photo. And he’s not. You are unlikely to ever be the most talented person. But talent is nothing if not supported by mindset. Everything you want to achieve is within your power, if you are willing to put in the hard yards and show up for yourself every day. …But try and do it without throwing up on a rowing machine 🤮 What have you achieved through grinding out the hours and relying on grit and determination? #talentvshardwork #exetercity #hardworkpaysoff #tabata

Elite Phase Secured ✅ • As I reflect back on phase 1 of the season before we kick off the elite phase against Shamrock Rovers at home Saturday, all I can say is this group have gone beyond expectations 🙌🏻 • Last season starting off in the role we got to the final of the second tier which was brilliant and this year we brought in 15 new players with a 2 year plan to be in the elite phase year 2 due to the age of the players. Only 1 player from the current squad of 20 will be over age next year with 8 players having 2 years still at u17s. And yes after our brilliant win last weekend against unbeaten Waterford the girls have qualified for the elite phase 👏🏻 • Incredible achievement for a group of players that are only getting started but the development of this group has been top and it’s all down to the attitude of the players and the brilliant staff I have around me. Not only have we got to the elite phase but 11 of the 20 players have already got called up to the u19s this season which is even more of an achievement for the squad and the club 🔝 • The elite phase is going to be a massive challenge for us as coaches and players but the one thing we have told our players is we are going to work even harder now but we will continue to have fun and enjoy the whole journey ⚽️ • #CRCoaching #corkcitywomensfc #soccer #team #elitephase #wnl #cantseecantbe #coach #coaching #development #hardwork #fun
