🌈 Exciting News! Diversity Role Models has hit a major milestone, reaching 200,000 young people through our impactful school workshops. 🎉 This wouldn't be possible without the incredible support from the Department for Education, corporate partners, and - most importantly - over 300 dedicated volunteers, staff, and educational partners who believe in the power of storytelling to create positive change. Our vision is clear: a world where diversity is embraced, and we can end LGBTQ+ bullying. Since 2011, we've impacted over 200,000 lives, working with nearly 1,000 schools and training 20,000 school staff. The results speak for themselves: 100% of students reported learning valuable lessons, and 96% of primary school pupils committed to respecting differences. But we're not stopping here! 🚀 Diversity Role Models is setting our sights on reaching 300,000 young people. With continued support, we can expand our reach and create an even more inclusive future. Let's build a world where every young person knows they belong and can thrive just as they are. 🌈💙🌍 #DiversityRoleModels #teachers #students #teacher #teacherlife #teaching #school #student #antibullying #lgbtq #schools #stopbullying #education #children #lgbtpride #learning #college #love #classroom #lgbt #queer

Anti-LGBTQ legislation is on the rise across the nation, affecting people in and out of the classroom. #PointScholars identified the best ways that their schools can support LGBTQ students during this anti-LGBTQ crisis. In second place, students ranked increased LGBTQ representation in staff, faculty, and administrators. At Point, we are building access for students with intersectional identities to take on roles in every career, including higher education leadership. 🌈 Happy Pride Month to all Educators and Mentors! 🌈 As we celebrate Pride Month, let's reaffirm our commitment to supporting all students, regardless of their gender or sexual orientation. It's essential for educational institutions to foster #InclusiveEnvironments where every student feels safe and valued. According to the National School Climate Survey by #GLSEN, LGBTQ students have faced persistent bullying and harassment, especially during the pandemic. Unfortunately, there has been a decline in supportive resources like inclusive curriculum and gay-straight alliances, posing significant challenges for #LGBTQ youth. 💖 At Educate. Radiate. Elevate., we take pride in creating a welcoming and supportive atmosphere in our tutoring programs. Let's work together to champion diversity and acceptance in #education, ensuring that every #student feels empowered to succeed! June is Pride Month, a time to celebrate the history, existence, and resistance of LGBTQ+ individuals worldwide. Their fight for equal rights continues, even in our schools. Inclusive books are being removed, students face discrimination, and LGBTQ+ youth and staff feel unsafe. Let's honor Pride by standing up for LGBTQ+ youth: speak up for inclusion in public education at your next school board meeting. Creating inclusive learning spaces starts with funding. Attend a local budget hearing or school district meeting and ask critical questions: - How is staff training on pronouns and gender identity conducted? - How does the district support safe and inclusive spaces for LGBTQ+ students? - Is LGBTQ+ inclusion part of the sex ed curriculum? - Are LGBTQIA+ individuals involved in decision-making processes for necessary training and support? Join us in advocating for welcoming, safe, and equitable schools. Your voice matters. Sign up now to receive the tools needed to make a difference. Let's ensure every student feels respected and supported in their educational environment! #PrideMonth #LGBTQ+ #Inclusion

Over 800 anti-LGBTQ+ bills were introduced last year alone. This year, we are on track to break that number. Now more than ever, we need actionable allyship from teachers, parents, and advocates across the country. Visit glsen.us/statesnapshots to see the climate in your state right now. . . . Video description: Black text on blue background reads "GLSEN State Snapshots" about an illustration of the United States. The animation zooms in on the state of Missouri and a text bubble pops up that reads "63% of LGBTQ+ students reported regularly hearing homophobic remarks at school. 71% experienced at least one form of anti LGBTQ+ discrimination at school. 12% were taught positive representations of LGBTQ+ people, history, or events.
