How do Glasgow SMEs achieve Net Zero? Still buzzing from the lively debate that ensued from David Garrick and I presenting CONNECT THREE's sustainability plan while hosting the Q4 Sustainable Glasgow Green Economy hub yesterday. We bravely put our hands up to host this one, stepping into the big shoes Edrington's sustainability plan gave us in Q3, for three reasons: 1. To benefit from external accountability in taking further action (presenting and committing to more action in front of the great & good of Glasgow did the job)! 2. To set out the challenges and opportunities we'd encountered on our journey - to help other SMEs navigate more easefully. 3. To share our strengths and weaknesses, to find complementary collaborators and get support, both for us and businesses across the city that must transition. Top three takeaways from the event: 1. We need to shout more about the good work we are doing, and encourage it in others - so here's our published impact report: https://lnkd.in/d45Xrt3W 2. We need to do more - and we don't need to do it alone - excited to be forming an SME sub group to help tackle this very complex objective. 3. It's worth being brave and sticking your hand up - we fail to take action when we're afraid to admit where we are, what we don't know, and worry how we might come across to others.
