Musculoskeletal health workshops were recently held at OTE HQ in Athens, organized by our Health, Safety & Wellness Business Unit. The workshops were dedicated on the prevention and promotion of musculoskeletal health, open to all employees in the building. The program included theoretical training to increase awareness on musculoskeletal health issues and practical exercises to integrate into their daily lives and work settings, led by Professor Natassa (Anastasia) Beneka from Democritus University of Thrace. 🩷As a physiotherapist and the founder of Semoi Health, I’ve encountered many inspiring women throughout my career, but one story stands out. 👵🏻A 76-year-old woman who dedicated her entire life to taking care of her family and running their business. She supported her husband until his last breath, always putting others' needs before her own. Despite experiencing pain for years, she never found the time to prioritize her health until it was too late. By the time she sought help, her knee had deteriorated so much that she needed a total knee replacement. This experience stayed with me and made me realize how often women neglect their own well-being while caring for others. It's honorable and selfless, but it’s also essential to take care of ourselves to be able to continue caring for those we love. At Semoi Health, launching this fall, our mission is to empower women to prioritize their health through science-based prevention, injury prevention tips, and proper exercise guidance.
