On September 11, we honor the lives lost and the heroes who emerged on this tragic day in 2001. Patriot Day is not only a time to remember those who perished but also a day to reflect on the bravery, unity, and resilience that followed. It’s a reminder to serve our communities in their memory, turning a day of tragedy into one of solidarity and action. 8:46 AM: American Airlines Flight 11 crashes into the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York City, impacting floors 93 to 99. 9:03 AM: United Airlines Flight 175 crashes into the South Tower of the World Trade Center, hitting floors 77 to 85. 9:37 AM: American Airlines Flight 77 crashes into the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, striking the western side of the building. 9:59 AM: The South Tower of the World Trade Center collapses after burning for approximately 56 minutes. 10:03 AM: United Airlines Flight 93 crashes into a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, after passengers attempt to overpower the hijackers. It is believed the hijackers intended to target a location in Washington, D.C. 10:28 AM: The North Tower of the World Trade Center collapses after burning for 102 minutes. 5:20 PM: 7 World Trade Center collapses after burning for hours, though it was not directly hit by the planes. This day is remembered as one of the darkest in U.S. history, marking the loss of nearly 3,000 lives. Join millions across the nation in acts of service today, whether large or small, and help keep the spirit of those lost and unity alive. #PatriotDay #DayOfService #NeverForget #UnitedWeStand #September11

**One Nation** In December of 2022, I was in a major car accident. As I sped towards the collision point, everything seemed to go into ultra slow motion. I managed to lift my right leg and hip off my seat just as a guard rail pierced through the front of my truck, through the engine block, and right through the seat. If time hadn't slowed down, allowing me to move, the rail would have pierced my abdomen, ripping me in half. Instead, I ended up with a broken lower leg and a bruise from the back of my knee across my buttocks, filled with blood as it tore the muscle from the bone. I should have been dead. The only conclusion is divine intervention. I shouldn't have regained consciousness; I shouldn't have been able to react and lift myself off the seat. I should have been impaled and torn in two. The recent events with the former President have reminded me of a few things. I understand how the former President feels as someone who shouldn't have survived. These incidents change you; they make you reflect more often, make you want to help people, give more back, and bring you closer to your family and friends. My own brush with death this most recent time has made me understand that life is fleeting, so make the most of it. I truly hope that the left and right can find a way to come together as we did after Pearl Harbor and 9/11. We don't have to agree on policy, but we need to come together as one nation and stop the divisive, hate-filled attacks against one another. Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines answered a call to serve—to serve the nation and every citizen, regardless of political affiliation. It is time for every citizen to serve this great nation and become united.

As July 4 approaches, my thoughts turn to those brave and patriotic Americans who defended our freedoms. One of Family Legacy Video's (https://lnkd.in/e8FJSfE) early legacy video clients was one of those Americans - a B-17 pilot flying perilous bombing runs out of England. Here's a brief excerpt from his story. #familylegacyvideo #familylegacy #familywealth #estatemanagement #lifestories #campdenwealth #campdenfamilyconnect #digitalstorytelling #familygovernance

23 years. For those of us old enough to remember, that day - 9/11/2001 - will be forever etched into the annals of our minds' eyes. For those of us who aren’t…youth who have been old enough to serve in our military for several years now, even…9/11 can appear like just another paragraph in history books. That’s why storytelling is so VERY important. When we tell our stories, we peel the black and white facts off the page and infuse those experiences with emotion and color. When we tell our stories, we are able to pull up a chair for someone who “doesn’t get it,” who has been separated from that experience or event by time or circumstance and close the gap of true understanding. When you watch this tribute to “The heroes of the forgotten maritime rescue mission” of 9/11, you hear…and experience for yourselves…the stories of these brave souls who were there, navigating the terror-filled Manhattan waters through smoke and debris in order to ferry as many lives as possible out of a crumbling city skyline. https://lnkd.in/eQ8353sN Theirs are by no means the only portraits of heroism from that day, and we honor both the told and untold stories of this tragedy of our nation. We mourn the lost and those who continue to be devastated or afflicted by the effects of the events on and connected with September 11th. But we hope that these captains' experiences - shared as their own stories, in their voices - help eliminate any distance these 23 years have created and, instead, allow you to pull up a chair and sit beside these heroic mariners and all of your fellow citizens as you share in the storytelling of our people.🕯️🇺🇸 🔵For stories of the “call to service” impact 9/11 had, you can read this USO article, “Why 9/11 Inspired These Service Members to Join the Military,” at: https://lnkd.in/ebPUbPZ2 #September11th #PatriotDay #NationalDayofServiceandRemembrance #NeverForget

On this solemn day, we pause to remember and honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001. It was a day that forever changed our nation, a day marked by unimaginable tragedy and profound heroism. We remember the innocent victims who perished in the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and aboard Flight 93. Each life lost was a beloved family member, friend, and colleague, leaving behind a void that can never be filled. We also honor the first responders—firefighters, police officers, paramedics, and countless others—who ran towards danger without hesitation, saving many lives at the cost of their own. In the aftermath, our nation faced a long and arduous journey of recovery. The physical scars on our cities were matched by the emotional wounds in our hearts. Yet, through the rubble and grief, we witnessed incredible acts of kindness, unity, and resilience. Communities came together, strangers supported one another, and the spirit of America shone brightly. Today, as we reflect on the events of 9/11, it is crucial that we remember and honor the bravery and sacrifice of those who were lost and those who fought to save others. This day serves as a reminder of the strength and unity that define us as a nation. We stand tall, united in our resolve to never forget the lessons of that day. Share in the comments what you remember about that day? Where were you on that September day? #911memorial #heros #neverforget #September11

Through the Fire We Charge—This Holiday Season and Beyond The holidays are a time of joy and togetherness for many, but for others, they can be a season of struggle. Whether it’s personal challenges, loss, or overwhelming circumstances, we all face our own fires. The question is: Do you cower in fear, or do you charge through the flames, knowing that strength and greatness await on the other side? Our veterans know this choice well. They’ve been baptized by fire, standing tall in the face of combat and making the ultimate sacrifices for the greater good. Our first responders—police officers, firefighters, and EMTs—face their fires daily, running into danger to protect lives without hesitation. These heroes inspire us to forge ahead, no matter how tough the obstacles, and remind us that greatness comes not from avoiding challenges, but from facing them head-on. This holiday season, charge through the fire and emerge stronger. Celebrate those who inspire you and remind yourself of your own resilience with the "Through the Fire We Charge" T-Shirt. Pick yours up here: https://vist.ly/3mp3t6b #ThroughTheFire #PushThrough #StriveForGreatness #DIAApparel #VeteranPride #HonorFirstResponders #HolidayStrength #FaceTheFlames #PersonalCourage #GreatnessAwaits

I had the opportunity to take an Advanced Marine Vehicles class my final semester at the Naval Academy and complete tests on models of these type of boats. We know that the effects of rough seas are harsh on the body and were trying to see if we could model control measures. Interesting article.
