“Caregiving is one of the most prevalent roles that we have as humans. At some point, we’re all going to be caregivers or be cared for,” Dana Sultan-Rothman, MBA, executive director of Corporate Communications and Marketing at Otsuka. “It’s time to shine a light on this community and have them feel seen, heard and supported in ways that we’ve traditionally done for patients and HCPs. It’s time to include caregivers in that focus and aid them.” We are proud to participate in the continued trailer announcement of “Caregiving” —a documentary by PBS and WETA Washington, D.C., with executive producer Bradley Cooper. Set to release in spring 2025, this film explores the challenges many caregivers face, while offering insights and resources to empower their #caregiving journeys. At Otsuka, we know that within every #caregiver, there is an immeasurable love and an unimaginable strength. To bring to light their unwavering dedication, we are dedicated to sharing their stories—to valuing the minds of caregivers everywhere. Otsuka is proud to be a lead, founding sponsor of the documentary, “Caregiving.” Discover our Caregiver commitment: https://bit.ly/3yMtqvJ

https://lnkd.in/eEebZP7Z I thought that this podcast might be of interest to caregivers and future caregivers. People don't necessarily realize that it is the spouse or partner that is the most likely person to provide informal care in a caregiving arrangement. Therefore, in many ways caregiving is an equal gender opportunity, even though most informal caregiving is provided by women. In my experience men often contribute in different ways than women; but, very often provide personal care as well. I thought it was good that the role of men is being addressed in this podcast which apparently will include a focus on all types of caregiving. #newagingpartnership #caregivingconfidential #caregiving #caregiver

I help family caregivers relieve their stress and enjoy life (again) by creating a phenomenal circle of care. | CoFounder, SoaringFamilies & BMG Dynamics Group Inc.
𝐀𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐅𝐀𝐌𝐈𝐋𝐘 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐄𝐆𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒! And friends of anyone caring for a family member … At 𝘚𝘰𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘍𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘴, we are driven/obsessed/will-not-rest in helping family caregivers relieve their stress and enjoy life (again) by building a phenomenal circle of care around them. Because caregiving is a TEAM sport! Over the last few months, I’ve tried a few different tactics to reach more families. To get them intrigued to work with us. But it has fallen short of my expectations, at least (maybe the bar was set too high). So over the weekend, I asked everyone in our 𝘚𝘰𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘍𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘴 community 3 simple questions, to see what I was missing: 𝟭 - 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻? 𝟮 - 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗶𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝘁, 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗷𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 (𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗼𝗻 $𝟭,𝟬𝟬𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬)? 𝟯 - 𝗜𝗳 𝗜 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗶𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗮 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸, 𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲, 𝗮 𝟭-𝗼𝗻-𝟭 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗮𝘆 (𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗯𝗲 𝗶𝘁)? The answers surprised me! But I learned a lot. I’m hoping YOU can take 60 seconds to ANSWER these same 3 questions. If you’d like to answer it anonymously. The link to the SURVEY is in the comments, OR … you can send me a DM … OR … just answer them in the comments. THANK YOU!! 🙂 #caregivers #caregivingsupport #homecare #dementia #aginginplace

In the U.S., more than 53 million family caregivers are unpaid, providing 34 billion hours of care annually, amounting to an estimated $67 billion in personal lost earnings. As caregiving in America faces the twin pressures of an aging baby boomer generation and rising life expectancy, the United States’ long-term care system threatens to tip into crisis. The film will personalize this urgent national issue through stories from caregivers and interviews with experts as they fight to give caregivers the security and support, they provide for so many others. The project also includes a robust national engagement campaign. The series will examine caregiving from multiple perspectives: the creation and evolution of the care system; the social dynamics that shape our approach to caregiving today and the future possibilities; the lives of caregivers and their relationships with those in their care; the interpersonal and economic pressures faced by caregivers; and the broader societal context in which caregiving operates on the margins yet affects everyone. Thank you, Bradley Cooper! #bradleycooper https://lnkd.in/g_FXREYp

#LetsTalk caregiving and the new year. Caregivers facing the new year while their loved ones are in hospice can benefit from vital comfort and support from other loved ones. These loved ones can help the caregiver by creating a peaceful environment, maintaining open and honest communication, and celebrating meaningful moments together. Offering emotional support, encouraging self-care, and connecting with hospice resources are essential. Engaging in rituals and traditions, documenting memories, and planning for end-of-life arrangements can bring solace. Expressing gratitude for the time spent together and seeking professional help if needed are also crucial. Caregivers can help families embrace the new year with hope and resilience, knowing they've provided love and comfort during a challenging time of transition and loss. What helpful advice do you have for caregivers entering the new year? #hearttohearthospice #hospice #hospicecare #hospicenurse #homecare #homehealthcare #palliativecare #caregiver #caregiving #eldercare #elderlycare #agedcare #aging #alzheimers #dementia #support #grief #griefandloss #grieving #seniorcitizen #seniorliving #seniorservices #assistedliving #dementiasupport #cancer #painmamagement #comfortcare #family

About 14 years ago, I completed a CliftonStrengths assessment, which helps you pinpoint your strengths. The assessment was so insightful that I still remember what I learned about my strengths. It was so comforting because now I remind myself that my strengths will serve me during a tough time. We include a CliftonStrengths assessment and follow-up coaching session in our Certified Caregiving Specialist and Consultant training programs. Assessments can create a powerful experience. For more than 20 years, I’ve been working to develop family caregiver assessments that deliver insights and comfort for family caregivers. I've created assessments that included just two questions and eight questions. My goals is to create a space for family caregivers to take time to reflect, offer an opportunity for family caregivers to say what they think and feel, and nourish an insightful, comforting conversation. I regularly monitor the effectiveness of using this tool with family caregivers by asking family caregivers about their experience with the assessment. Recently, I attended a virtual webinar to learn more about family caregiver assessments used by other organizations. During the meeting, individuals from a national caregiving organization, a state department on aging and a local social service agency shared their tools. Each shared a version of a similar process: A family caregiver reports to the agency their assessment of how the caree is doing and their ability to provide care. These aren’t family caregiver assessments. They are more like an exam, a test, an evaluation, a way to funnel carees into services. These are reporting tools. Those tools miss the mark. A family caregiver assessment is about the family caregiver, the person, that person’s needs. We need an assessment that offers insights and help to support us in our lives. Our life is more than our caregiving experience. We are multi-dimension individuals with gifts and talents we want to use and goals we deserve to pursue. We need a much better assessment experience. So, I’d love for you to join me and tell how you’re doing. Join me August 7 at 1 p.m. ET to complete our conversation 8-question assessment during which you tell me how you're doing. We'll complete the assessment in a facilitated group setting. At the close of our meeting, we'll share how you can meet with a Certified Caregiving Consultant to complete a complementary one-on-one assessment for personalized support if you would like. See you on the 7th at 1 p.m. ET! #caregiving #caregivingsupport #caregivinghelp
