I don't take notes during meetings any more. That's something I NEVER thought I would say, especially since I'm pretty old school when it comes to taking notes. Up until recently I still took hand written notes for almost all my meetings. Now, with Otter.ai I don't have to any more. It takes the notes for me and transcribes them in real time so I can highlight section of the conversation as I go and then summarizes everything for me at the end. Their Otter Pilot for Sales feature pulls out key information around all aspects of the sales process like decision process, timeline, pain points, next steps and more. Their chat function also allows me to ask any question about any meeting, including multiple meetings with the same client and get instant answers. I used this function the other day right before I was about to do a training and had forgotten a critical piece of information about their sales process. Instead of sifting through all my notes I was able to quickly ask their chatbot for the information and it found it for me immediately. I know there are a lot of other meeting recorders and note taking solutions on the market right now but after going through almost all of them I can tell you that Otter is by far my favorite. That's why I'm partnering with them moving forward. They are offering my audience free access to their Otter Pilot for Sales if you sign up with the url in the comments below.

This is interesting. I leverage a variety of tools to record and transcribe many of our meetings. It's useful to go back to some of the details I might have not been able to capture. But I still take notes, not so much to capture the whole meeting, but to capture certain ideas, themes, or even my reactions to them (for example a note with a lot of ? marks and ! points (which may be my code for WTF?) There's another important function of notetaking. It's not just capturing the conversation, but it forces us to think about what's being said and what it means. As a result, I record/transcribe calls. I still have my scrawls in my black notebook. Both are important to me, but in different ways.

I’m guessing there’s a disclaimer in the beginning of the call that it’s being recorded and have prospects balked at that/how have you presented it to the prospect?

Great update! I think the best way for Sakes Pro's to learn is similar to learning a new language. You have to apply the skillset. Thoughts?
