Members from around the world joined from the UK, the US, Canada and Australia, and discussed how best to encourage colleagues with a disability – especially a hidden one – to ask for the support they need in the workplace. Read about some of the accessibility solutions that were put forward: https://lnkd.in/eF4z8ZTS We look forward to seeing you at our next LiveMeet, on 21 March. Have you ever been in a situation where you had to reach the 2nd floor of a building but lacked a staircase to do so? Have you ever experienced being asked to use a toilet seat above your height that you can’t even sit? Have you been asked to understand a series of instructions in a language you don’t know? Such struggles and more are experienced by disabled individuals in inaccessible places. While we talk about inclusion, we also need to take a mindful and empathetic approach towards making our workplaces inclusive for all. Read more in this blog by apoorva ravi on how to create accessible workplaces. https://lnkd.in/dt4wGKjn #inclusiveworkplaces #disabilityinclusion #inclusiveleadership #Kelp #inclusionmatters #disabilityrights

This is national inclusion week and the focus of it this year is #ImpactMatters I will keep this short and sweet. I just want to point out some things that companies can do and make an impact with not much effort. - Promises to create inclusive spaces through education and awareness. - Lead from the top with senior disability sponsors. - Hear from communities through listening sessions and through surveys throughout their network. - Remove barriers to Inclusion by providing tool kits, guides and framework. - And build a culture of allies who advocate for Inclusion and for inclusive design. If you want to find out more on how this can be done, please contact me at TrainAbility can give you the knowledge and tools of how to put it into practice. #InclusionMatters #InclusionWeek #Disability #Disabled #Inclusive #NotAllDisabilitiesAreVisible #ERG #EmployeeResourceGroup #InclusivePolicy #InclusiveProcedure #KnowledgeIsPower #RemoveBarriers #Allies #InclusiveDesign

Great quick read. I would embed fluidity and flexibility within these habits. Each student is unique and their lived experiences differ with context and change. We must be vigilant, proactive, and considered in our practice. #inclusiveeducation #inclusivepractices
