We've worked closely with the Marketing and Sales team at Bruntwood SciTech to create the marketing cgi and animation for Pall Mall - A sustainability-led workspace for the socially conscious on Manchester's prestigious King Street. Interiors have been beautifully designed by the team at Sheppard Robson working to high and sustainable specification. Pall Mall is about flexibility, blending work and lifestyle. It will offer a new product that combines rent, electricity, service charge and insurance into a single cost which remains fixed with no hidden fees. Project Focus: Gateway Central and West, White City, London PAD Contracts were appointed by Sir Robert McAlpine (SRM) on behalf of Stanhope for an architectural metalwork installation at the Gateway Development of White City Place, London. The project White City Place is West London’s creative hub. The development, described by Stanhope as “a global business district for world class companies”, includes offices, shared spaces, restaurants, stunning roof tops and collaborative zones, all connected by tree-lined avenues. Occupants include the BBC, ITV, L’Oréal, the Royal College of Art and pharmaceutical company, Novartis. The Gateway comprises three new buildings that expand the campus by 800,000 sq ft: Gateway Central, Gateway West and Gateway East Tower. Gateway Central will be L’Oréal’s new UK headquarters. The first floor will house a flexible games and training space, complete with a boardroom buffet room and an expansive roof terrace. The office design seamlessly blends historical elements with contemporary functionality, incorporating repurposed materials including recut and repolished granite table tops from the existing building. Heritage features such as traditional panelling and brass lighting pay homage to MMD's 1970s coal mining origins while creating a modern interpretation of a classic British social atmosphere. Rebrands can sometimes feel like an unnecessary expenditure, but in this case, I think this is a brilliant concept. "Downtown," and "central business district" could be just about anywhere in this country, but the Fountain District feels all at once modern and historic while giving the area a psychological makeover. Green Light for M&S Oxford Street Redevelopment: A New Era for Marble Arch Marks & Spencer’s flagship store on Oxford Street is set for a transformative redevelopment, following approval from Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner. This decision paves the way for the creation of a modern retail and office space, marking a significant milestone in the revitalisation of one of London’s most iconic shopping streets. A Long Road to Approval M&S first submitted its redevelopment proposal for the Marble Arch site in March 2021, envisioning a flagship store complemented by a café, gym, and offices. While the plans initially received approval, they faced a setback in 2023 when then-Secretary of State Michael Gove rejected them. His concerns centred on the perceived harm to local heritage sites, including the neighbouring Selfridges store and nearby conservation areas. The recent green light from the government marks the end of a three-year struggle. Stuart Machin, CEO of M&S, expressed relief and optimism:"I am delighted that, after years of unnecessary delays and political posturing, our plans have finally been approved. This project is a chance to rejuvenate the UK’s premier shopping street, create 2,000 jobs, and set a global benchmark for sustainability."
