We have partnerships with groups all across the country (case workers, government agencies, the VA, rehabs, shelters, domestic violence centers etc). These partners reach out to us when they have new information, but since our guests live on the streets they don’t have an address to send mail to, and a lot of them don’t have cell phones, so how can a case worker find them? Well, they call us, ask us if we have seen them, and often times we have! In this particular case, an agency in Virginia called us in hopes that a man they’d been working with was staying at our shelter! Thankfully, he was! He is now on his way to Virginia and is off the street! God is good!!

Did you read that?! There are 50 million enslaved people that exist RIGHT NOW! Some experts estimate that roughly 100 million people have been enslaved throughout history. This means that nearly half of all slaves in human history are CURRENTLY in slavery. As uncomfortable as this topic is, human trafficking and modern slavery are arguably among the greatest evils of our time, happening overseas and right here on American soil—far more than people think. And we need to do something about it. That is why I am actively seeking partnerships with organizations like the Tim Tebow Foundation, who continue to do incredible work to save the lives of these innocent people and give them hope for a beautiful future outside of enslavement. More to come on this from me, but in the meantime, PLEASE consider researching this more and donating to the fight against this terrible evil that persists across all borders, races, religions, cultures, genders, etc. This is something we all can fight together.
Approximately 50M people are enslaved by their traffickers. Hundreds of thousands of little boys and girls are being sexually exploited and abused at the hands of their offenders. This is a daunting problem, even overwhelming. But we have hope because we serve a big God and have already seen incredible miracles. But don’t just take our word for it. Here are real phrases from some incredible heroes, boys, and girls, who have been rescued from this evil. I am free. I found hope. I feel alive. I found a home. I found new friends. I am valued. I feel safe. I feel safe and free from the people that abused me. We cannot stand idly by as image bearers of God are experiencing some of the darkest of evils. For too long, society has turned a blind eye. The time to act is right now on this #WorldDayAgainstTrafficking! It is YOUR action, prayers, and commitment that help identify and rescue victims, and care for survivors long term. If you don’t step up, we can’t step into the gap for them. Join us now. Take action now! Begin your fight today by visiting this link and joining the Rescue Team as a Defender: https://lnkd.in/gkkW2-2D

What we're seeing here is terrible and needs to be corrected, the system overhauled, the public perception changed on who owes who what, and who parents who. Yes, it's ongoing abuse. If we can get the system changed to automatic baseline 50/50 parenting rather than discuss %custody .. if we remove all decree nisi battles over money .. no expectations of child maintenance, no enquiry of who earns what or when, or loss of superannuation .. we would have less women suffering in this way .. and less men becoming destitute and taking their lives from also suffering this way as it more often has been. What I read is precisely the plight of men as a standard and a majority of cases .. good decent men. I'm not making this a Men's Rights matter.. I'm saying this because it enables non discriminatory abuse and feeds a system that financially bleeds people out to the point where they cannot just start over and rebuild independent of the other whilst trying to get access to and continue to parent their children who are innocent in all this.
The author's ex-partner has manipulated custody arrangements and actively alienated the children, portraying the author as unfit and fostering a sense of dependency on him. This alienation dynamic serves as a form of coercive control, further isolating the victim and destabilising their support network. #CoerciveControl #DomesticAbuseAwareness #AlienationDynamics

Inspiring to see the expansion of this crucial initiative, lead by Dean Henrico. It's a powerful reminder of how businesses can play a vital role in creating safer communities.
I am pleased to announce the expansion of the acclaimed "Ask for Angela" campaign to four additional regions in Ontario. In collaboration with the York Region Centre for Community Safety (YRCCS), Victim Services of Peel (VSOP), Safety Network Durham (SND), and Caledon Dufferin Victim Services (CDVS), we're committed to creating safer communities across the province. This initiative builds off our success with this program initially launched in Toronto, and on the internationally recognized "Ask for Angela" campaign, providing a discreet way for individuals in immediate danger to seek help. Our goal is to break down barriers and offer a secure environment for those in vulnerable situations, especially victims of human trafficking and domestic abuse. If you or someone you know needs help, please approach staff at one of our stores in these regions and ask for “Angela”. This code phrase alerts staff that assistance is needed, and they will promptly contact support services. We’re proud of this initiative and the store teams who are taking part to make their communities safer.

People who care for survivors of sexual or violent crimes and trauma may not always recognise the value of the support they give. They might believe that their unconditional love for the survivor negates any need for additional assistance, or they might even feel responsible for the situation. However, it's important to understand that caregivers in these situations are deserving of help and support, including financial relief. Restitute is here to offer practical guidance and assistance in connecting third-party victims of crime with the resources they require and the help they deserve. buff.ly/3S3st9z

Look out for the survivors, and listen when they speak. How trafficking presents each time is nothing unique. It comes in many guises, and it kills more than you know. You have a voice to influence where others cannot go. By joining hands, we can end this epidemic once and for all. Let us work together to empower lives, uphold human rights, and ensure a future where freedom is a right, not a privilege, for all. People trapped in modern slavery are often dehumanized and treated as mere objects controlled by others. This devastating reality can make it incredibly difficult for them to trust others or form relationships, even with those who aim to help. Many live in complete isolation, grappling with a profound lack of self-confidence and the heavy burden of shame and stigma associated with their status as survivors. 💡 Did You Know? 💡 Human trafficking is a $150 billion industry worldwide, and Texas is one of the top states for reported cases in the U.S. At Treasured Vessels Foundation, we are working to change that by providing safe housing, specialized care, and a path to healing for survivors. Here are some important facts: • 79% of trafficking cases involve forced situations. • The average age a young person is first impacted in the U.S. is just 12-14 years old. • Survivors often face significant trauma, requiring specialized long-term support. At TVF, we are committed to restoring hope and transforming lives by offering a supportive community and resources survivors need to thrive. Together, we can fight against exploitation and make a difference! 🔗 Learn more about how you can help at https://lnkd.in/gt93PE7h. #DidYouKnow #AwarenessMatters #FightForFreedom #SupportSurvivors #TreasuredVesselsFoundation #TVFFacts
