The party of “freedom” is systemically persecuting parents and friends of 2SLGBTQIA people. Don’t come to tell me that “not all republicans are like this…” Yes they are. And the BIPOC and 2SLGBTQIA people who play their games are the most extremely dangerous lot within the party, as they offer the excuse these white Christian nationalists need to justify theor evil actions. Persecuting a nationally recognized organization excercising its right to freely assemble is unconstitutional, but who said they care a bit about the Constitution? All they care about is the erasure of people who do not comform to their very narrow ideologies. Why bring “politics” into a LinkedIn thread? Because these state actions by politicians are just blueprints of what they are planning on doing come Janaury 2025. In fact, it is all layed out in their Christofascis manifesto, Project 2025 (really, google it and understand what they want to do.) If you haven’t raised your voice to condemnd these actions, you are part of the problem. And of you are still living in denial that our minoritized communities are not really subjects of systemic persecution in the USA, there’s nothing I can do to help you understand.

📊 Recent data from the Human Rights Campaign shared with Axios, reveals a nuanced landscape in this year’s legislative sessions. Despite the introduction of approximately 500 anti-LGBTQ+ bills in both 2023 and 2024, the number of bills that passed has significantly decreased this year. 🔍 **Key Statistics:** - **2024:** 37 anti-LGBTQ+ bills passed out of 490 proposed. - **2023:** 90 anti-LGBTQ+ bills passed, with half targeting the #transgender community. - **Bright Spot:** 10 states have passed 27 pro-equality laws in 2024. The current state of emergency remains, but we're witnessing signs of a shifting tide. The resilience and defiance within our community are palpable, and it's this spirit that we are channeling to effect lasting #change. In 2023, we saw a record 540 bills, many targeting #trans and nonbinary individuals and threatening to undermine our hard-won #rights and freedoms. As someone who identifies as #queer and #nonbinary, these statistics aren't just numbers to me—they're a reminder of the ongoing struggle for acceptance and #equality.
