The control the federal govt has over recreational saltwater fishing is insane. Specifically offshore reef fish.

Outdoor recreation in New Mexico is a vital, CLEAN,SUSTAINABLE economic cash flow for serving a high quality product! Quiet, space, adventures of many kinds all serve to “re-create and recharge ourselves and our guests!! We have a duty to make these experiences safer, more accessible and less complex. Education of permitting, hazards, and resources for Adventures need to be expanded. New Mexico needs to consider how we can better serve our tourists and locals alike with Saftey Services like signage, online resources, rescue and Helicopter services(that can be included in a “Adventure NM Pass” for example that brings in revenue that feeds directly back to safety services and training. I live in Taos where we have a very specific, difficult and complicated situation with the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge, as a suicide destination bridge, as well as the gateway to incredible swift water adventure, and fun in the Lower Taos Box and UPSTREAM of John Dunn Bridge. Last October we got a rescue call from two SUP’ers. That not knowing good “SUPing and interttube floating class 1-2” was UP Stream of John Dunn, they put-in(no life jackets, wet suits)and unknowingly heading to into a impossible 16 miles of class 4 to nearly die of Hypothermia…

I bet this is the first time in US history that outdoor recreation got this level of attention during a cabinet secretary nomination hearing. We've arrived!!! So much credit goes to Outdoor Recreation Roundtable for elevating our standing on Capitol Hill.

It's so refreshing to hear some positive news from the federal. It's been tough over the last couple of weeks, and while this doesn't take away from some of the atrocities we've seen, it certainly feels good to see how we can agree about the good outdoor recreation creates!

Liked this clip so much I watched it a few times! The bipartisan support for outdoor recreation is stronger than ever, and it's exciting to see the future of our outdoor spaces and economy being prioritized at the highest levels. 🌲🌄

First cabinet nominee to create an Office of Outdoor Recreation and great to see the bipartisan highlight of the importance of these offices--now 24 nationwide.

Don’t confuse playing politics for TV with bipartisan agreement and action. Anyone remember what happened to Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monuments the last time Trump was president?
