We’ve all heard the saying, "The way to someone’s heart is through their stomach." But in some cases, it can lead to trouble. Recently in Bhubaneswar, a woman made headlines when she caught her husband with two unknown women at a hotel. How? Not through detective work, but by tracking the food he ordered using a delivery app. She cleverly traced the delivery address and uncovered the truth. While this story has its dramatic flair, it highlights a growing concern around privacy in our digital lives. Sometimes, even our food orders can tell a story we don't want to share. Take another instance: a couple filed for divorce after the wife discovered her husband frequently ordered food to his office, despite her lovingly preparing meals for him at home. It wasn’t just about the food—it was about the secrecy. In response to such stories, companies are evolving. Swiggy has just launched a new Private Mode for their food delivery service, allowing people to order food without leaving a trail in their app history. For those who want to keep their lunch (or late-night snacks) private, it’s a feature that might come as a relief. This move addresses the growing demand for more control over personal data and privacy, even when it comes to something as simple as food delivery. As technology advances, it's reassuring to see platforms like Swiggy recognizing the need for discretion in our everyday choices. After all, sometimes it’s not just about what we eat—it’s about who knows. #PrivacyMatters #FoodDelivery #DigitalPrivacy #Swiggy #ModernRelationships
Foodtech major Swiggy has rolled out an ‘incognito mode’ feature for users to place orders privately across its food delivery and quick commerce platforms 👇 The new feature eliminates the need to manually delete orders from history. “As social as our lives are becoming, there are still things we prefer to keep private, and Incognito Mode is designed to address that need,” said Rohit Kapoor, CEO of Swiggy’s Food Marketplace. As per the company, incognito mode is currently available to 10% of its users and will be rolled out to all shortly. 🔗 To read more in detail, click here: https://lnkd.in/gAAHGeRP #news #Swiggy #Incognitomode

Potential fraudulent Overcharging on Swiggy Instamart - A Call for Transparency and Accountability Hello LinkedIn Community, I recently encountered a troubling issue while using Swiggy Instamart, which I believe warrants public attention and immediate resolution. As seen in the screenshot below, I noticed a significant discrepancy in the total amount charged for my order. Despite various fees and a discount being applied, the final amount to be paid shows a confusing and seemingly incorrect total. Screenshot Analysis: • MRP Total: ₹890 • Convenience Fee: ₹15 • Handling Fee (incl GST): ₹5 • Delivery Partner Fee: ₹30 (discounted to FREE) • Expected Total: ₹910 (₹890 + ₹15 + ₹5) • Displayed Total: ₹930 (instead of ₹910) Despite applying a ₹30 discount on the delivery partner fee, the displayed total is higher than it should be, indicating an overcharge of ₹20. This discrepancy is not just a minor error but a significant issue that could be affecting numerous users who might not notice such miscalculations. The Real Concern: How many times has this happened to other customers? Given that people rarely do the calculations themselves, this bug/feature could be causing substantial financial losses for many unsuspecting users. Responses from Swiggy Cares: • The first response from Swiggy Cares acknowledges my query but offers no specific solution to the billing issue. • The follow-up response again fails to address the primary concern of overcharging and merely lists basic troubleshooting steps. This experience has left me questioning the integrity of the billing system on Swiggy Instamart. It’s imperative for such a widely-used platform to ensure transparent and accurate billing processes to maintain customer trust. Call to Action: I urge Swiggy Instamart to: 1. Conduct an immediate and thorough investigation into this issue. 2. Provide a detailed explanation and solution to affected customers. 3. Implement measures to prevent such discrepancies in the future. To fellow users: Please double-check your receipts and report any discrepancies you find. It’s crucial that we hold companies accountable to prevent such issues from becoming a norm. Let’s ensure that businesses uphold transparency and fairness in their operations. #Swiggy #SwiggyInstamart #CustomerService #Accountability #Transparency #ConsumerRights

Companies founded by Best Friends 💡👬 An important aspect is whether this person: 🔸was a business partner who became a friend 🔸or you brought a friend who had never done business. Recently, a software developer’s post went viral where he shared how after getting fired from his tech job, a Swiggy delivery agent job saved his life! The LinkedIn user, 'Riyazuddin A' is a software developer by profession. After getting sacked by his previous employer, he was in an acute financial crisis. Riyazuddin found himself in deep distress as bills started piling up, and he did not have a salary to sustain himself. So, instead of sinking deep down in depression, the techie decided to join as a Swiggy delivery partner and meet his financial needs. The post titled “A Journey of Resilience: My Farewell to Swiggy” depicts his journey at a time when he could have lost his mind. In the post, Riyazuddin wrote, “A few months ago, life took an unexpected turn when I was laid off from my job. With rejections piling up and bills to pay, I found myself in a difficult financial position. During that time, I made the decision to become a Swiggy delivery partner to meet my financial needs.” He further added, “I still remember those early morning rides, the blazing afternoon sun, the pouring rain, and those late-night deliveries. Each delivery wasn’t just about the earnings, it was a step forward in reclaiming my resilience. Swiggy gave me an opportunity to stay afloat when everything else seemed to sink.” “It was not easy—balancing hope, rejection, and the grind of the day-to-day. But those months as a Swiggy delivery partner gave me more than just financial support; they gave me invaluable lessons in patience, persistence, and humility. Every order I delivered made me stronger.” He concluded with a ray of hope. “To anyone going through a tough time right now—hang in there. Sometimes, life’s unexpected detours lead us to places of growth and strength we never imagined.” Riyazuddin’s experience is a reminder to anyone going through a challenging time. It is hard but imperative to keep your calm and make a decision that is appropriate at the moment. The LinkedIn user’s journey is a lesson for everyone in an era when a job comes to professionals with no warranty. #startuppedia #startup #swiggy #deliverypartner

Recently, Swiggy discovered that an employee had taken ₹33 crore from one of its subsidiaries, Scootsy, over two years. This is a clear example of embezzlement. But what does embezzlement mean? It’s when someone who is trusted to handle money for a company secretly uses it for their own benefit. For example, if you're in charge of a budget for software or tools and take some of that money for personal use, that’s embezzlement. In this case, Swiggy has acted quickly to improve its internal controls & transparency to prevent this from happening again. #swiggy #embezzlement #awareness

Zomato's Blinkit Bet Pays Off Big Time 🚀 When Zomato acquired struggling Blinkit (formerly Grofers) for a staggering $569 million, many raised eyebrows. But fast forward to today, and the food tech giant is having the last laugh. Blinkit has leapfrogged established rivals in the cut-throat quick commerce race in India. With its frenetic 10-minute delivery model resonating with urban consumers, Blinkit has rapidly scaled to over 26 cities. Blinkit is now a crown jewel for its parent firm. For Zomato, the payoffs are already visible - its quick commerce revenues have soared more than 100% on year-on-year. The success can be attributed to vast delivery network ad monetization and right SKU. But challenges remain - from managing a vast delivery workforce and dark store network to achieving profitability amidst cut-throat competition. Rival Swiggy, flush with funds, is also aggressively scaling its Instamart service to grab a slice of this lucrative pie. In this frenetic battlefield, will Blinkit be able to maintain its breakneck speed and fend off deep-pocketed challengers? #QuickCommerce #Zomato #Blinkit #Swiggy #FutureofRetail
