Today is Stop Food Waste Day. 33% of all produce is wasted every year. If food waste were a country it would be the largest greenhouse gas emission producing country in the world. Almost 50% of all fruit and vegetable produce is wasted every year, globally, which is equivalent to about 3.7 trillion apples. If 25% of currently lost or wasted food were saved, it would be enough to feed 870 million people.
