Did you feel the ground shake this morning? Today, #Equinix announced a fully managed private cloud service that enables enterprises worldwide to acquire and manage their own NVIDIA DGX AI supercomputing infrastructure for building and running custom generative AI models. This innovative service allows companies on the Equinix Platform to efficiently utilize AI infrastructure, closer to their existing datasets and IT assets. This opens up a wealth of optimized architectures that keeps enterprises in control of their data, yet poised to exploit all the opportunities AI presents. Exciting times!

𝗜 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 $𝟭𝟬 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗲-𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝗮 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗶 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿. Just two years ago, building a generative model required a world-class team and millions of dollars. Fast forward to today, and the landscape has transformed, thanks largely to the open-source community. With less than $10 in cloud costs and under an hour of my time, I was able to fine-tune a model with my own data. This dramatic reduction in effort and cost has truly democratized the process of content creation. However, while enjoying this newfound accessibility, it's crucial to stay mindful of data privacy. Whether you’re running your models locally (perhaps with a powerful GPU—waiting on that 5090?) or renting GPU power from vendors like Lambda Labs, and ensure your data remains secure.

Meeting demands for performance, hardware and #GenAI 🤖 At this week’s #DellMakingAIReal event, #theCUBE speaks with Martin Glynn, senior director of product management, unstructured data solutions, at Dell Technologies, to explore their robust performance, hardware, and gen AI capabilities in collaboration with NVIDIA. “Our customers demand to use PowerScale with all of its strengths in their InfiniBand infrastructure. So, we're adding both those things. We feel good about what we're able to offer our customers from a hardware perspective, and of course, not just the performance. We've now added 61 terabyte drives. We'll be putting that in our 9-10 infrastructure to provide customers the best in class density, performance, and flexibility,” Glynn shares. “In the past 18 months, we've offered the ability to run PowerScale inside AWS and Azure. From a generative AI perspective, there are some tool sets you can only access in the cloud. Customers have this platform that they can deploy at scale inside their own data centers and take advantage of tool sets inside the cloud.
