I love to see articles like these from Fierce Pharma. I have learned a ton from women in Biotechnology - I know a ton who should be nominated soon like Alison Kyle Handel, MS (Quest Diagnostics), Patricia Judson, Sohanya Cheng, MA, MBA from Karyopharm Therapeutics Inc., Reshma Rangwala (CMO), Valerie Kobzej from Bristol Myers Squibb, Jen Maurer from Legend Biotech, and of course Michele Korfin (whom I hope takes over Purple Biotech and fixes it before they launch CM24+nivolumab+SOC into second line Pancreatic Cancer Action!). 🙏 These are some of the Fiercest People that I know. They aren't necessarily as fierce as my mom or Grandmothers were... but they are Plenty Fierce, and Strong Leaders whom I trust & hope take over their companies - or others - soon! 👍 The more women in control of healthcare (as my old friends at Biopharma Resource Groups, LLC and ZS know) ... the better! ✨ Old, White Men still have way too much Power in Corporate United States of America - Women represent half of the population, yet barely any are CEOs or Politicians - hopefully Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association can continue to change that, and companies like Johnson & Johnson can help address it by naming a female their next CEO. 🤝 If JNJ every wants to be fully past their Talc Powder manufacturer lawsuits, then they should empower more women to fix their massive company globally. 🍏 Cheers! 🏆 ~Jeffrey Jay Conroy 🥇 Global HC Analytics LLC, Founder 🥈 CNN has a nice summary here for those unfamiliar with the tragic JNJ Talc Powder Situation which has lingered for years & have yet to be resolved: https://lnkd.in/eKjn2Ant

Although all in transition in biopharma are facing challenges, it's essential to acknowledge that women and people of color have been disproportionately impacted. The industry remains predominantly White and male, particularly in leadership roles. According to industry data, executive teams in North America, Europe, and Australia are less than a third female, with only about one in three CEOs being female and persons of color. Moreover, the lack of racial diversity among the highest-ranking executives in pharma is concerning, with recent declines in representation. Addressing these disparities is crucial for fostering a more inclusive and equitable biopharma sector. #DiversityandInclusion #Biopharma #LeadershipRepresentation

Over the past year, I've had the privilege of attending numerous conferences and networking with investors and executives in the biotech industry. It's evident that securing funding in the current climate has been challenging. However, one consistent theme in my conversations with investors is the crucial importance of a strong and preferably experienced leadership team. Companies cannot just rely on exceptional science; they need the ability to articulate a commercial strategy, a clear vision, and strong operational expertise. This will make them attractive to investors looking for reliable and innovative partners in the high-risk biotech sector. A prime example is Third Arc Bio, which recently raised $165 million to develop oncology and autoimmune biologics. Their success can be attributed not only to their innovative science but also to their exceptional leadership team, led by former Johnson & Johnson executives. This underscores the critical role that experienced leadership plays in gaining investor confidence and driving biotech innovation forward. At GENerX Life, we are actively working with clients worldwide, coaching and advising on the leadership, skills, and competencies required to attract investment. Our expertise ensures that biotech companies are equipped with the right leaders and infrastructure to navigate today's competitive landscape. https://lnkd.in/eTi_TMyJ Visit us to learn more about our services - www.generx.life #Biotech #Leadership #Funding #Innovation #ExecutiveSearch #BiotechFunding #BusinessGrowth #GENerXLife #BiotechLeaders #Agileleaders

During our recent Annual Shareholder's Meeting, the question of gender diversity in our Board of Directors was raised, shedding light on the importance of representation and varied perspectives at the highest levels of decision-making. Christophe Weber, our President and CEO, emphasized the need for a more diverse Board that truly reflects the richness of our Executive Team and organization. With 53% female representation in our Executive Team, we are proud of our progress but acknowledge the room for improvement. Our CHRO Lauren Rusckowski Duprey, speaking on our people strategy, outlined our ambitious goals for gender parity. With a global workforce that is 52% female and 46% of senior leaders identifying as female or non-binary*, we are on a journey towards greater inclusivity. In Japan, where there is still progress to be made, initiatives like our Takeda Resource Groups and the leadership of Asuka Miyabashira inspire us to keep pushing for change. Join us on this journey towards embracing and celebrating diversity, while striving to give patients and our people equitable access to opportunities that help them achieve their full potential. #BetterHealth #BrighterFuture (*Disclosure: This data includes permanent and fixed-term employees.) https://lnkd.in/gSCvMW-n
