Quit your 6 figure job… and do this 💪🏽 Years ago, fresh out of the Navy and after college, I landed my first job with a 6 figure salary. My goals were small back then. Super small. I thought making over $100k+ a year was the solution to financial security. That was the number that I thought would allow me to live like I wanted to live. Big 🧢…. I was more than wrong. I was super wrong. After working for a few years, looking at it from the inside, I realized everyone that was so called "ahead of me", was working 60+ hours a week, building someone else’s dream. None of them was benefiting from the additional work load and responsibilities. They put in the late hours, took on additional tasks, did what they thought would get them ahead. Believe me, I'm a super advocate of hard work, but I need the benefits from putting the work in… … would you go to the gym daily if it didn't yield positive results like feeling better, more energy, more endurance? I bet you would quit if you put in all that hard work and you maintained that almost 40 dad bod 😂🤣 For some, they are cool with that. But if you are like me, you want more. Actually, you need more. Because financial freedom and living like you want, doesn’t come from a salary. It only comes from ownership. That's why I got into real estate. To live life on my terms. To have financial freedom. To legacy build for my family. Take my advice. 🛑 waiting. ✅ Take the risk. ❌ Don't allow fear to keep you stuck thinking you can't achieve more.. You can do it and when you do, you'll thank yourself later. DM me if you’re ready.

Why as an employer, are we not tackling the root cause? Why do we accept toxic cultures, poor leadership, low compensation, poor work life balance? Culture in a company is imperative. Ask your employees, through an anonymous survey, to rate your company culture. I bet a lot of you will be shocked by their responses. Toxic cultures has a negative impact, not only on your employees, but the operations of your company. Invest in your employees and they will invest in you.

Another friend just left their job last week. He had been fighting for a 10% raise for more than 6 months. Everyone looks to him for support on his team. His manager leans on him to lead the team when she's away on vacation. Every impact review has been positive for the last 3 years. But in March, he found out that he was one of the lowest-paid members of his team. When he brought this up to his manager and asked for a raise, nothing happened. No matter how hard he pushed for it. Last week he accepted a new role with a 34% pay increase. Great employees don't just quit jobs. They quit environments that don't appreciate them.

I just got my third call today from individuals who have been laid off in the last 24 hours. Lay offs these days are same day. Employed this morning, unemployed by 2 pm. If you get called into a surprise meeting and learn you're being exited, here are four things I recommend during the meeting or call: 1) Stay calm and quiet. 2) Ask when you will receive, in writing, details on the company's separation package, payout of accrued vacation time, and other relevant details. 3) Don't sign anything in the moment. Respectfully ask for copies of the documents and let the company know you'd like time to review them. 4) Ask for copies of past training records and performance reviews to help build your resume (if you haven't already been keeping a wins/brag book). Once you exit the building or hang up from the termination call. Breathe. And keep breathing. One after the other. Take time to grieve, be angry, scream, cry, get petty, and whatever else you need to do to move on. Don't feel like you have to hop on indeed in the next hour or you'll be behind in the job search. You got this. 💗 #unemployment #jobloss #jobloss #termination #laidoff #unemployed

Take the counter offer….you’ll be gone in 6 months time still. This is what I know. This is what your employer knows. So, is it inevitable because your employer knows and therefore unintentionally sidelines you, treats you just a little differently since you resigned and so you leave? Or you stay, the same gripes start to grate, the same walls are getting higher maybe the ceiling is getting lower even? I can’t tell but inevitably we all know it is financially less of an impact for your employer to offer you more money at the last hurdle. It’s a strategy and rarely much to do with you and how you’ll be treated.

𝗜 𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘁 𝗺𝘆 𝗷𝗼𝗯 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟲𝟬-𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝘀 𝗡𝗼𝘄, 𝗜 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗮 𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗺𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝗳𝗲… The first recruitment agency I worked for was amazing. I learned SO much, and at 24, I was just getting started. I was billing well and had a beautiful wife and kids. The work became super stressful And eventually I didn’t feel like I was being compensated properly The consistent 60-hour weeks were hard on my young family. And my progression was stuck. To be promoted, I had to relocate my family or travel regularly… I was tired of making huge sacrifices without any meaningful equity. So I quit. And, not long after, I started my own firm. Working alone was weird. No one was pushing me. No one else was challenging me. But if I wanted to work 30 hours and spend time with my kids… no one could stop me. Now, 20 years later: > I don’t work a ton of overtime any more. > I make lunch and dinner for my wife regularly. > We take our dogs on midday walks together (when it's not too hot). > I have an hour of reading and prayer/reflection every morning. > And work out at my home Gym (gracias, Covid) prior to starting my day. To any aspiring business owners, here’s my advice: go for it! Having control over your time is the best perk ever. There will be a million lows but plenty of highs to make it all worthwhile.

I fired myself today. I didn't quit. I just sat silently in my office and told myself that I was fired. Then I asked, "If I were HR, would I want to hire me again? Has my productivity been worth my wage? As a candidate for my current role, would I even want to continue working at this job, or would I be happier and better off somewhere else?" Let yourself answer these questions honestly and truthfully. What actions would come as a result of these honest answers? What would you change? Finally, give yourself these three gifts at the end of the year: First, give yourself the gift of owning who you've been and what you've done this past year. Second, give yourself the grace of forgiveness for all the mistakes. Lastly, give yourself the freedom to choose to become better. Happy new year, friends. #growthmindset #forgiveness #newbeginnings

Wow! Thanks Alex for reminding me of this principle. This is actually how I started years ago and can tell you: if you want to go, from employee to business owner and from there off in investing, that is how you develop the skills, meet the people and put in the work. It keeps getting easier once started! I mean easier, once you’ve got momentum, results confidence; the work gets harder and responsibility greater. And it really helps when you’re passionate! But is worth every second of no sleep or tiredness. All the sacrifice and time put in is worth every single second. Nothing is better than telling your manager: I quit! If you’re a great professional you get the question: What about a raise or promotion! But whatever they, say you know it in your heart, you are not staying for the money because that is not your best reason for quitting! It is your dream, your family and your time. Someone said to me, when I was in college, and sleeping till 10 am or something like that: Sleeping is for pussies! Get a life😊! I could tell him now: Weekends are for the employees and retirees and Bank holidays are jumping stones! I am way ahead of what he meant 20 years ago. I don’t actually want to waste any of that time, except for family or my circle. I don’t need a weekend, to show love and appreciation. When they sleep or rest and party, you go to work! I mean the competition or anyone else! That is called unfair advantage. Actually, It is a numbers game. If I done it, anyone can. I think Arnold Schwarzenegger said it: Sleep faster. Thanks Alex Hormozi for sharing! Anyway, enjoy the rest of your weekend! Or don’t! Up to you!😊🤣 Be great!
