Welcome back paginated search results! I am not sure I prefer the paginated experience, but I prefer saying "first-page" when explaining SEO average position/ranking. "Initial results" or "First loaded", didn't have the same sparkle. https://lnkd.in/eQv-_u5g #seo #google

This latest change highlights the importance of having an effective SEO strategy. Searchers will spend more time on the first page results, and as the joke goes, "the best place to hide a dead body is page two of Google." https://lnkd.in/ernuNKjt

The August core update is finally complete! What do marketers and website owners need to know? ✍ User-first content is still a priority for Google - if your website reads like it was created for robots, you'll have a hard time on SERPs. 🚮 If you think your content isn't aligned with the above, don't delete it! Instead, review and refine it - deletion should be a last resort. 📈 And finally... don't panic if your rankings have been fluctuating in the last few weeks. Core algorithm updates can take some time to completely roll out, and we should begin to see this update's true impact in the coming month. None of these are radical new ways of approaching SEO - but it's always a good idea to ensure that your website content is high quality, up to date, and follows E-E-A-T guidelines, and this update is yet another reminder of that!

“The best place to bury a dead body is on page 2 of Google search results.” Now that infinite scroll is gone, I suppose we’re back to that. Which is hilarious. But now mostly because page 1 is so filled with Google’s own products and partnerships: a panopticon of comically bad AI overviews, paid search ads, GLSA, the map pack, knowledge panels, “people also ask” bars, links to Reddit forums (Google’s partner), etc. Oh, and the occasional earned organic search result for a relevant business that invested a lot of time in creating great content. For an iota of credibility. #SEO #GoogleSearch #GenerativeSearchExperience #AIOverviews
