We have talked with a lot of small businesses about why they give away products or services to nonprofits when they are asked. More often than not, there is little or no financial return for the businesses when they make these contributions. Does your coffee shop give out free coffee cards to a local PAC? Did you donate a piece of furniture to a charity auction? Did you give away room nights for a local fundraiser? In any of these cases, did you sell more coffee or furniture, or book more hotel nights? GiveRound can help you lead with strategy so you can support your community's nonprofits while also growing your presence in target markets. Check us out at GiveRound.com.

𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗼? 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲, 𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵, 𝗜 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿: ➡️ Sat on or chaired a fundraising development board. ➡️ Been a fundraising trustee of a charity ➡️ Founded a charity of their own which they fundraised for. ➡️ Fundraised for their child's school (one philanthropist helped raised £20m from 7 cheques). ➡️ Raised additional funds for a their own foundation or as a CEO of one. In fact, most of the donors I know - fundraise. 📌 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗽𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗼 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝘀 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗸𝘀. 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗲𝗹𝘀𝗲'𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿, 𝗮 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗿 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵. Which means those "under pressure tactics" you expect your fundraisers to execute are landing like water off a duck's back. They see you coming. Listen to your fundraiser about the time it take to engage and convert prospects. You're NOT only gaining a donor, if done right you're gaining a fundraiser too. Their own personal experience of your charity is either going to encourage or discourage them to promote you to their networks. So, let your fundraisers get their ducks in a row and make the experience a pleasant one. 🦆🦆🦆

Here are three essential tips for UK charities as they enter the final quarter of the financial year: 1. Launch a Year-End Fundraising Campaign Tip: Maximise your fundraising efforts by launching a targeted year-end campaign. Highlight the urgency and impact of donations before the fiscal year ends, and emphasise tax benefits or matching funds to encourage contributions. 2. Review and Adjust Your Budget Tip: Conduct a thorough financial review and reallocate resources as needed to ensure you meet your year-end goals. Focus on high-impact areas and cut back on initiatives that aren’t delivering strong results. 3. Engage and Appreciate Donors Tip: Strengthen relationships with personalised updates and thank-yous. Share impactful stories to show how their support has made a difference, setting the stage for future donations and ongoing engagement. These tips will help ensure a strong finish to your charity’s financial year.

Here’s a simple way I like to think about donor engagement … it’s a lot like dating. 1. First comes attraction – something about you attracts them, a conversation, an ad, a social media post. 2. Then comes the first date – they research you, see if there is a fit, then they decide if they want to engage. 3. You’re now dating – they’re now interested, they may have donated a few times, they may have come to a few events, they tell their friends about you. 4. You’re now in a long-term relationship – they’re invested in you, they fundraise for you, they donate regularly, they volunteer, they are open to leaving a bequest. It may sound too simple, but so often we overcomplicate things. For the full blog post, see below. https://lnkd.in/eGkZ7CZB

Tip of the Day: Motivation & Charity Work A number of centers we visit participate in charity functions – this helps to bring some fun into the center (motivation), helps with team building and also gives something back to the community. For example, one major bank has a regular ‘charity day’ where members can ‘dress down’ and an agent who participates pays a small amount to charity – say a dollar or two. Other centers get involved in national fundraising events such as ‘comic relief day’ in the UK – volunteers take donation calls. Other ideas could include doing some sponsored challenges with your team to raise funds. All these sort of activities are great for you, your staff and the community. Lastly, make sure your center gets some publicity in the local press as it also helps to raise your company profile and help attract new staff! https://lnkd.in/eA-52g4 Get tips like this every day - The Global Association for Contact Center & CX Best Practices https://lnkd.in/gmez8Fhi for FREE membership today!

We understand the important role philanthropy plays in our clients’ lives, and hosting a fundraising event can be another rewarding and impactful way to contribute your time, talent, and resources outside of your regular donations. Whether raising money for a nonprofit organization, a community group, or a personal cause, hosting a fundraising event can be a powerful way to bring people together and make a positive impact. Identify a Cause Before you get started, it’s important to identify the cause you are passionate about and want to raise funds for. Research the organization or cause to ensure that it aligns with your values and that the funds will be used effectively. You should also consider the resources you have available and choose a fundraising event that is feasible to execute. Set Your Goals Most fundraisers are held to raise a certain amount of money. If that’s the case with your fundraiser, set a target for how much you’d like to raise for your cause. But consider other potential goals as well. Would you like to acquire a certain number of recurring donors? Or a certain dollar amount of pledged recurring donations? Maybe, in addition to other goals, you’d like to generate publicity about your organization. Whatever they are, describe your goals in writing as specifically as possible so that you stay focused on them as you plan and execute your fundraiser. #fundraiser

We're really excited to move into our new space (just a couple more months!), and we've been thinking a lot about how necessary it feels to have a place where, no matter what is happening in the world around us, we can come together and do something real and good for others and for ourselves. At our new space, we'll have room to welcome more volunteers and accept more donations. We'll host fundraisers for other nonprofits and community-centric events that invite everyone in. Connection and community are essentials needs and we're really looking forward to finding new ways to engage with the people who make Maine Needs what it is (that's you). Our capacity campaign- a fundraising effort to expand our reach and support more people- kicked off late last year and it's still going strong! Our goal is big and reflects the needs throughout the state and all of the ways we can work together to meet them. We're aiming to reach 50% of our goal by moving day. If you believe in the work we do and want to see it grow and thrive, please give what you can. Share this with the people in your circle who can help. 1,205 people have already shown their support with a donation. If everyone that follows Maine Needs on social media gave $22, we'd reach our goal tomorrow. Whether you have $2 or $2,000 to give, you can be part of building this community where everyone helps and no one goes without. SHARE this post. Drop an emoji in the comments to help us reach more people. This community needs you. maineneeds.org/give

Donating to a local cause as a business creates a meaningful connection among your employees and deepens your connection to your community. ✨ Here are a few points to keep in mind when you do begin to give to charity: 1. Connect your cause to your company. 2. Ask employees for causes to support so they will feel more connected to the effort. 3. Support causes you care about in your backyard because employees and local customers will appreciate you giving back to community they live in. 4. Build morale and corporate culture by offering volunteer opportunities, not just writing a check. Charitable giving is about coming together, so don’t forget to ask your employees and community which causes are most important to them. By asking and listening to their opinion, you’re building a greater network of support. #CharitableGiving #SocialChange #PhilanthopicEfforts
