In this recent La Stampa article a detailed chronicle of the evolution of the Italian jewellery industry district of Valenza in the northwestern Piedmont region. From a "once-upon-a-time" thousands of micro and small enterprises to the coming of international brands (among others Bvlgari and Cartier) who have transformed this small town in a world high-end jewellery manufacturing hub. Nothing will be like before ... an era ended and a new shape of the district has been modelled via new factories hosting hundreds of workers ... things never seen in Valenza but quite common in other jewellery district around the world.
