Yesterday I wrote about what Baseball Scouts look for in a Pitcher, I can write many articles on Baseball, but this topic is most important if you are a Pitcher. Understand 99% of Pitchers in High School especially throw a fastball, but does it MOVE, or TAILS if not you need to work on it. Hitters today can hit any fastball, but when the ball moves and sinks it’s tough on hitters, and Scouts love to see the ball move. Learn how to position your fingers on a two seam fastball & practice with a good Pitching Instructor.

In this episode, I tell about my friend, Michael Thurman, and his gift of teaching his ballplayers more than pitching and hitting. If more coaches would do what Michael does, baseball would be understood in a more pleasant way. Learning from an early age helps to set a foundation that can set up a long season of memories. February is Black History Month, and what better time to teach Negro Leagues baseball history. No baseball player, young or old, can truly understand what that foundation truly is. In this episode, I ask all coaches to tell about baseball history, and be sure to include the history of the Negro Leagues! #negroleagues #baseball #blackhistorymonth

.300 Why is this number significant? In baseball it’s considered an elite batting average. A batting average is determined by dividing a player’s hits by the their total number of at-bats. So how does one achieve .300? Well our first thought, naturally, is if you have 10 attempts and you hit the ball 3 times. But the reality is, it usually takes a whole lot more than 10 attempts to reach that 30% success rate. It actually looks like 150 hits out of 500 attempts or 300 hits out of 1,000 attempts. In baseball, hitters understand this concept to their core. They want as many at-bats as possible because they know it gives them a greater chance of reaching a higher goal. So how does this pertain to you? Just because you don’t achieve your goal in the first 10 attempts doesn’t mean it won’t happen. In fact, the more reps you get the greater chance you have of reaching your goal. Go get your reps in‼️
