We are happy to share the latest publication from Ariel Precision Medicine following our mission to advance a deeper understanding of the impact of Recurrent Acute and Chronic Pancreatitis. https://lnkd.in/gQk4mBSw Traditional research studies have considered hospital admissions as the gold standard for measuring the attack rate and thus healthcare burden for Recurrent Acute and Chronic Pancreatitis. In hopes of better estimating the burden of disease, we reached out to patients to fill out a brief questionnaire focused on pancreatic events that are managed "outside" of a hospital or ER setting. We discovered that patients suffer through multiple events per year that are managed outside of the hospital setting, highlighting that true event rate may be significantly underrepresented in the literature. Gaining a better understanding of the impact of pancreatic disease and event rate is foundational to developing targeted therapeutics and more effective treatments aimed at improving patient lives and health outcomes. Congratulations to Phil Greer, Jessica Gibson, Tory Moore, CFA and David C Whitcomb MD PhD #healthoutcomes #precisionmedicine #datascience #pancreatitis

Cardiogenic shock (CS) is characterized by low cardiac output and sustained tissue hypoperfusion that may result in end-organ dysfunction and death. CS is associated with high short-term mortality, and its management remains challenging despite recent advances in therapeutic options. Timely diagnosis and multidisciplinary team-based management have demonstrated favourable effects on outcomes. We aimed to review evidence-based practices for managing patients with ischemic and non-ischemic CS, detailing the multi-organ supports needed in this critically ill patient population.

Ventricular septal defects are a rare complication after acute myocardial infarction with a mortality close to 100% if left untreated. However, even surgical or interventional closure is associated with a very high mortality and currently no randomized controlled trials are available addressing the optimal treatment strategy of this disease. This state-of-the-art review and clinical consensus statement will outline the diagnosis, hemodynamic consequences and treatment strategies of ventricular septal defects complicating acute myocardial infarction with a focus on current available evidence and a focus on major research questions to fill the gap in evidence.

🧬 Discover at INASL 2024 from August 7-10 to explore our poster presentation titled "One-step non-invasive diagnosis of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis and fibrosis in high-risk population" using the OWLiver test. This innovative approach aims to improve the accuracy and ease of diagnosing these conditions, offering significant benefits for patient care and management. Our test demonstrates high sensitivity (86.1%) and positive predictive value (85.3%) for detecting MASH. The OWLiver Panel shows reliable accuracy in identifying MASH and significant fibrosis among high-risk individuals. This advancement in non-invasive diagnostics can revolutionize how we approach liver health and patient care.🔬 🗣️ Don't miss this opportunity to learn more about how our work can impact liver health and the future of medical diagnostics during the oral presentation of the poster on the Session - Special Interest Group (SIG) – MASLD the 9th August from 8:00 AM – 8.50 AM in Hall – 1. #INASL2024 #LiverHealth #Metabolomics #MedicalInnovation #Healthcare
