Registration is open for the 8th SEG Virtual Student Conference (Europe). This virtual conference is for European and Eurasian students. It is open to all final year undergraduate, Masters, and PhD students across Europe and Eurasia. Students who have not yet been able to present at a major conference but would like to share their work are encouraged to attend. Equally, it is a great opportunity for more experienced students to present within their network. Students who don’t have anything to present are welcome to register to see their peers’ work. Thoroughly enjoyed this conference, thanks Lazaro! Our paper (The Centre for Researching Education and Labour (REAL), Wits University) looked at recognition of skills and qualifications in the Southern African region; we had an interesting session with a paper looking at the effects of migration on skill formation in Kosovo, with Linda Wanklin and Jehona Serhati, and migrants and VET in the UK with Andrea Laczik. What roles VET can and can't play in supporting migrants, but equally importantly from the perspective of us in the South, how the migration of skilled workers affects our economies and skill formation systems, is going to be an increasingly important issue.
