This week is teacher appreciation week. Don’t just thank your child’s teacher- thank your teacher in whatever way you can. We can indeed educate in so many ways that do not include a teacher. But it’s the teacher who humanizes learning, customizes instruction to individuals, and creates a space where students ENJOY learning, and continue to do so for the rest of their lives though they may never realize it. While parents stabilize society, and keep families strong, teachers nurture society collectively. This goes for all teachers in all societal institutions. But public education’s teachers advance our cuvilization above our present state. They in many cases are the sole catalyst that transition individuals beyond simple survival. Teachers are at the heart of every form of social and intellectual manifestation of progress we have come to understand because the most successful teachers truly love their students, and teach their students to love and respect one another in the process. What would we be without them? Thank a teacher.

On Teacher’s Day, we celebrate those who dedicate their lives to nurturing minds and shaping futures. But while we honor our teachers, it’s important to remember that learning isn’t confined to the classroom or limited to a select few. Every person we meet, regardless of age, background, or experience, has something to teach us. The beauty of life lies in its diversity of perspectives. A child can remind us of curiosity and wonder. A colleague might inspire us with their resilience. Even those we disagree with teach us the art of patience and understanding. The world, in essence, is a classroom, and everyone we encounter plays the role of teacher. Learning from everyone means being open, listening actively, and embracing humility. It's about understanding that knowledge is boundless, and wisdom often comes from unexpected places. This Teacher’s Day, let's celebrate not only our educators but also the everyday teachers around us- the friends, family members, and even strangers who offer lessons in kindness, strength, and humanity. Here’s to lifelong learning and recognizing that the world’s greatest classroom has no walls and above all to all my teachers, aged 1 to 100 -Happy Teacher’s Day!

It's back to school time! Anyone excited for the smell of new school supplies? How about the quiet hum on campus before kids burst into your classroom? It's time to dust off that teacher voice and stack of inspirational quotes! In all seriousness, as we embark on another school year, we know that teaching is more than school supplies and inspirational quotes; it is a calling – a calling to nurture minds, kindle curiosity, and instill a love for learning. Each one of you plays a pivotal role on your campus, bringing with you unique talents, perspectives, and a commitment to excellence. Your influence extends far beyond curriculum and lesson plans; it reaches into the hearts of those you teach, leaving an indelible mark on students' lives. Here's to a fulfilling and transformative school year ahead, where each day brings new opportunities to connect deeply with your students, to understand their stories, and to guide them with empathy and encouragement. And, most of all, to be ready to impart wisdom, manage chaos, and occasionally hide from both in the supply closet! 😂 With deep gratitude and a handful of humor, the lead4ward crew bit.ly/4dNb9O7

10 questions parents should ask at their Parent Teacher Conference this Fall: Question 1: Is my child a visual, auditory or kinesthetic learner? It is crucial for parents to understand whether their child is a visual, auditory, or kinesthetic learner because it empowers them to support their child's educational journey more effectively. Knowing their child's learning style allows parents to tailor home study environments, provide appropriate learning resources, and communicate more effectively with teachers about their child's needs. The Academy of Academic Excellence's teachers are skilled at recognizing this empowerment and can provide appropriate learning resources, further enhancing the child's learning experience. This understanding can improve academic performance and foster a more positive attitude towards education, ultimately contributing to their overall development and success. Dean Rita T. Busch
