🌞 UV Safety Awareness Month is observed every July, and it's a crucial time to highlight the importance of protecting your eyes from the harmful effects of ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Prolonged exposure to UV rays can significantly increase the risk of eye conditions such as cataracts, macular degeneration, and photokeratitis (a painful, temporary condition similar to sunburn of the eye). Be aware of the risks of UV exposure! #OxIA #UVAwareness #UVExposure

What is one of the most overlooked risk of medical lasers? Smoke plumes emitted during procedures. Why? These plumes can potentially contain intact viral particles that may be capable of transmitting different pathologies. Despite the risks, there can be a lack of adherence to smoke evacuation requirements in surgical settings. Relying on masks or standard suction isn’t enough to protect against these dangers. 🛡️ So what is your best defense? Invest in a reliable smoke evacuation system — whether it’s a mobile unit or a strategically installed OR system. Did you know? Traditional masks may let in up to 20% of airborne contaminants, compromising their effectiveness. Traditional masks, like surgical masks and cloth masks, often suffer from significant leakage around the face seal. Maasc PAPRs come in three distinct seal sizes (Small, Medium, Large) that conform to your facial contours, creating a snug, leak-free barrier. So choose Maasc for superior protection and minimized leakage. Source- https://lnkd.in/dJ5_KFtm)
