The boundaries between segments hold tremendous potential, especially for both academic and CTE dual enrollment. Allowing this to be managed and tracked at the level of students and families, and schools and colleges is critical. However, without adequate software or personal technology these type of strategic and accessible dual enrollment options and pathways are only available to a tiny fraction of the school population and have to managed with adequate human resourcing, which is difficult in budget constrained times.
Director of Pathways and Postsecondary Success Strategies at Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
As I reflect on the wild ride that is ASU-GSV, I'm energized by the fact that "skills," "pathways," and "degrees" were mentioned together throughout the summit. To me, that signals that there is a growing commitment to delivering real value for students via strong pathways from education to career. We know that dual enrollment is often an important component of those pathways—that's why I'm excited to share our team's new learning deck. Check it out to learn about the history of dual enrollment, our hypothesis about what great dual enrollment programs look like, and the levers we have to make all dual enrollment programs great ones. Shoutout to Career Ladders Project, the Community College Research Center, and the Public Policy Institute of California for their partnership—as well as Bill Tucker and Sylvia Symonds, Ph.D. for their synthesis.

Kellogg Essays for the upcoming admissions year - here is my take on Essay 2:
Candidates can learn a lot about themselves while writing this essay. Oftentimes, we have an intuitive sense of what our values are - but we've never really gotten around to verbalizing them.
We find that our value systems come to the fore when we are put in a difficult spot.
Do I take the candidate and help them target the M7 (value: helping someone without judging), or do I carefully explain to them that they may not have a good shot, and their efforts will be better placed somewhere, assuming they don't have the score for an M7 (value: commit only when I'm confident I can deliver.)
Nothing wrong with either value system. But this would be a difficult decision for me, and when I walk you through my thought process, you would learn about how my values drive me, and what values drive me, in the first place.
This is probably what Kellogg wants to see here.
The first question uses a fancy word - but seems to be a straightforward goals essay. A bit cramped, but should be doable!

🤔 Do you know the difference between a graduation and YBLC's Success Ceremony?
👨🎓 YouthBuild Lake County hosts Success Ceremonies twice a year to celebrate all of our participants' achievements. Supporters who are new to the organization might see the caps and gowns and assume this is just like any other high school graduation, but there are many elements that differentiate the two.

Most colleges do not organize proms, but SSCBS does it every year. Why?
Is it really a bad thing for a boy and a girl to be seen together on college premises?
Or is Western culture influencing our traditional values?
Honestly, as we enter college, almost everyone is an adult. We are capable of making our own decisions, both personal and professional.
My college has been organizing prom every year, and I have never seen anyone's life go downhill just because they brought a date to the event.
Do you mean to say that a person won't be able to focus just because they attended a prom?
Trust me, someone who wastes time talking randomly and not focusing on their career will do so regardless.
I believe that events like these pave the way for open, healthy communication within our college.
We need to consider that when such events are institutionally supported, they help students understand that talking to the opposite gender is not a sin—a feeling that many colleges unfortunately instill in their students.
Proud to be a graduate of SSCBS and a member of all two proms! xD
(One did not happen due to COVID )
P.S. I know this might not be typical LinkedIn content, but I would love to see more colleges adopt this practice. It made my college experience so much more open and inclusive.
