Oxy invested in Cemvita Inc. in 2019 to help accelerate advancements of its innovative bio-technology, which can use waste carbon feedstocks, including CO2, to sustainably produce valuable proteins, chemicals, and fuel feedstocks. Cemvita Inc.'s sustainable oil is a cutting-edge, microbially produced low-carbon renewable feedstock that can be used to produce alternative fuels, including sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). Cemvita Inc. currently operates a sustainable oil pilot plant in Houston, Texas and is in the pre-Front End Engineering and Design phase for their demonstration-scale facility.
