comparison between skip joist system and waffle slab : Bay 12m * 12m , fc+walls =.75 t/m2 and ll =.3 t/m2 firstly: skip joist system the secondary beams (30*70) are arranged every 2 m with slab thick 12cm. the marginal beams are (40*70) secondly: waffle system total slab height = 36 cm ribs width 15 cm ........... it is obvious that the first system is more economical than second one and compared to stiffness and long term deflection the first system is perfect .

This ceiling has visible moisture staining. It felt damp to the touch implying a current moisture issue, which was corroborated with infrared imaging. But infrared imaging doesn’t actually confirm the presence of moisture (it can show a pattern consistent with the presence of moisture). The moisture meter, when used properly, confirms that the ceiling is wet.
