Four months after Steward Health Care shuttered its hospital in the Nashoba Valley area as part of its bankruptcy process, health care officials are considering opening a new, stand-alone emergency room in the region. UMass Memorial Health said it plans to build and operate the emergency department, which is also expected to offer certain imaging services. “We believe this solution can fill the community’s critical needs and address their primary areas of concern,” the hospital group said in a statement. https://ow.ly/lEBR50ULrPc

🚧 Exciting milestone for the new Melton Hospital! 🚧  Site preparation works for the new hospital, delivered as a Public Private Partnership, will begin shortly, marking a major step toward bringing essential healthcare infrastructure to Melbourne’s fast-growing outer west.    As Victoria’s first fully electric hospital, the new Melton Hospital will provide critical services, including 24-hour emergency care, maternity and neonatal support, intensive care, mental health services, and more. The new hospital will improve accessibility to health services and enhance outcomes for the people of Melton and the broader region.     AECOM has proudly supported the Victorian Health Building Authority and Western Health from the master plan and feasibility stage, through to providing technical advisory services to the state in its Public Private Partnership procurement. Here in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight our staff are working harder than ever to consistently deliver the best care. We are facing many challenges - record demand for care, an ageing population and patients with more complex needs.   We know change is needed, which is why we are already working to deliver our Renewed Ambition for patients and staff. The new Emergency Department in Portsmouth is providing a better experience for people who need emergency care. We’re also expanding our use of innovations like virtual wards to care for people at home where they want to be, and not in hospital.   The Pharmacy First scheme has now helped more than 100,000 people across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight with direct treatment, freeing up many GP appointments. And we’ve employed new teams of specialist staff in our GP practices – from physiotherapists to mental health practitioners - to improve access and help people get the right care.   We know we have more to do and that we cannot solve all these issues alone.
